Two Women Arrested for Talking about Their Faith, One Released on Bail and the Other Still Detained

April 14, 2020 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Guangdong Province, China

(Minghui.org) Two Jieyang City, Guangdong Province residents were arrested in February 2020 for talking to people about Falun Gong. One of them was recently released on bail after she developed a medical condition while in detention.

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is an ancient spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since 1999.

Ms. Wang Xirou and Ms. Cai Hui went to a local village to talk to people about Falun Gong on February 11, 2020. Ms. Wang was arrested on the same day after they were reported to the police by two village security personnel.

Although Ms. Cai escaped the arrest, she was arrested at home a week later after the police located her through surveillance videos. She wasn't allowed to change her clothes or put on a jacket before she was taken away.

Ms. Cai exhibited very high blood pressure and heart palpitations, but the Jiedong District Detention Center still admittedher. The detention center also refused to accept the clothes her family sent her, even though she was still wearing the same short-sleeved shirt she had on during her arrest.

Ms. Cai’s health condition deteriorated over the next few weeks, and the detention center recently granted her bail to seek medical treatment.

Ms. Wang remains in the same detention center at the time of writing.
