(Minghui.org) According to media reports, the Wuhan coronavirus is worse than the 2003 SARS outbreak. Since January 23, all public transport in Wuhan City has been shut down. Airports, train stations and all routes out of the city are closed. There is a severe shortage of medical face masks. Moreover, it is Chinese New Year, a time where the population is highly mobile; this further increases the danger of the spread of the virus. As the situation becomes more severe, I would like to share my thoughts on how we should view this epidemic from the perspective of a practitioner.
In the past, whenever there was an epidemic or natural disaster in China, certain practitioners would regard it as punishment for those who have participated in the persecution or a sign that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) will collapse. Many practitioners’ human hearts were stirred up. Instead of seizing time to progress in cultivation and save sentient beings, some began to indulge in fancy thoughts.
Master said, “Don’t take the wicked CCP’s disintegration to be your goal.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the NTDTV Meeting”)
As cultivators, in grim moments like this, we should be strict in following Master's requirements and hurry up and save more people. Only then can we accomplish our historic mission.
We should be clear that there are reasons behind what’s happening in China today. But when problems like this appear, how we look upon those who are suffering or have died is a crucial matter. Do we feel pity or regret? I know many practitioners have suffered so much during the 20-year-long persecution. However, we shouldn't have thoughts that are contrary to the teachings of Dafa because we were mistreated. We must remember that as practitioners we need to be kind and compassionate.
Every being that is born into the human world should be given an opportunity to be saved by Dafa. Whether he or she knows the truth about Dafa in the face of lies spread by the CCP or avoids death in a calamity is beside the matter. As practitioners we should treasure lives, and this perception should never change. We should feel devastated for not saving a person. Otherwise, if we don’t care whether beings survive or perish, aren’t we thinking using the logic of the evil CCP?
It is also a very good opportunity to save sentient beings as the outbreak worsens.
People like to think they have wealth and power. But in the face of illness, these things become useless. Therefore, this is the time to let people understand the facts of Falun Dafa and be given a second chance at life.
Let us be more diligent in cultivation in the New Year and put more effort into saving more people.
