(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 27 cities or counties in 11 provinces, where at least 75 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Qu Zhuguo (gender unknown), Deng Xinying (gender unknown), Mr. Li Zhanfeng, and another practitioner Qu (first name and gender unknown) were taken to a brainwashing center by agents from the village committees of Dashakan Village, Yongle Village, and Beiguan Village on November 19, 2020. The agents were carrying out an order from the Zhuozhou City Political and Legal Affairs Committee. The brainwashing center was newly established in Donghe Village by the Committee.
Ms. Yuan Xiufeng, her husband, and Ms. Zeng Liaoyuan have been subjected to brainwashing in her home each day since the end of October 2020 by Shaoyang City Political and Legal Affairs Committee secretary Li Qiling and Communist Party members. The members claimed that they would brainwash the practitioners until they were “transformed” (forced to renounce their faith). They go to Ms. Yuan’s home daily at 9 a.m. and leave around 11:30 a.m.
Ms. Yuan’s home was ransacked on November 17 by Li Qiling, county 610 Office head Peng Zhe, and others. They seized a copy of writing by and a picture of the founder of Falun Gong. They confiscated a copy of Zhuan Falun from Ms. Zeng. Several years ago, officers led by Gaosha Town Comprehensive Management Office director Deng Biao seized over 20 copies of Falun Gong books and several pictures of the founder of Falun Gong from the homes of Ms. Yuan, Ms. Zeng, and Mr. Su Taigui.
Su Heyong, Mr. Su Taigui’s son, got a call from Communist Party secretary Yang Hua from Yunfeng Village, Gaosha Town on October 28, 2020. Yang said cadres from the provincial, city, and county governments set up a brainwashing center in Yunshan Village and told Su to have his father go and register. Su and his wife were deceived into pressuring their father to go there. Mr. Su refused. The two beat him. He was hurt and could not eat for seven or eight days. His son threw and broke his cell phone, tied him up with rope, and said, “If you don’t register, we’ll torture you to death.” His daughter-in-law said to him, “If you don’t register, you will be sent to jail.” She claimed that she would kick him out of the house.
Ms. Zhang Yan, 72, was harassed by agents from the Guodan Township government and officers from the Guodan Police Station on September 4, 2020. In addition, the agents and officers intimidated her husband and children. They told her daughter, who is a teacher, that her classes would be suspended if she did not make her mother sign a repentance statement to renounce Falun Gong. Under pressure from multiple sources, Ms. Zhang twice ran away from home. She was harassed again between October 31 and November 1. She left home again to avoid further harassment.
Ms. Wang Wenchen’s home was broken into by agents from Mutoudeng Town government and director Song Xueqiang of the Mutoudeng Police Station in the morning of November 21, 2020. The agents and Song drove to Ms. Wang’s home. The door was locked. They jumped over the fence, entered the house, and found that no one was there. They left.
They went separately to Ms. Wang Yumei’s home and Ms. Wang Wenjie’s home. The two practitioners were taken to a small room in an unknown place in the county and later brought back to their homes. The trip’s purpose is unknown.
Ms. Wang Guixiang was repeatedly harassed at home by Shapo Village head Zhang Sheng and town government agents in September 2020.
Ms. Liu Mingying was harassed at home by Zijiawa Communist Party secretary and accountant in September 2020. The harassers demanded that she report to the Hunyuan County Brainwashing Center and the brainwashing center in Yufu Hotel. She and her family refused.
Ms. Dai Mingrong’s home was ransacked by three officers from the Maoxing Town Police Station on the afternoon of November 21, 2020. The officers seized two Falun Gong books and two letters telling people about the persecution. This was the fifth time Ms. Dai was harassed at home by police recently.
Ms. Zhang Xiulian, 70, was harassed at home on October 20, 2020. Two officers whose surnames are Li and Yan from the High-Tech Development Zone Police Department led a team of officers to ransack her home, but they found nothing of interest.
On the afternoon of October 21, officer Li led six others back to her home with a summons. They took Ms. Zhang to the Shunhua Road Police Station, asked if she still practiced Falun Gong, forcibly took her fingerprints, and videotaped the process. They finally released her after 9 p.m.
The officers routinely harass Ms. Zhang, call her, knock on her door, etc.
Ms. Liu Sufan and Ms. Li Li were harassed at home by agents from Jiaohe City 610 Office, officers from Domestic Security Division, and agents from the community on the morning of November 21, 2020. The harassers tried to force them to sign the three statements to renounce Falun Gong and threatened to take them to a brainwashing center if they did not comply.
Ms. Liu Guifeng, 48, and Ms. Wang Sulian, in her 70s, were arrested by officers from the Fuan Police Station on November 21, 2020.
Ms. Ren (first name unknown), in her 70s, living in First Keji Village, has been under house arrest for more than a month. Five people are monitoring her. A patrol car has been parked in front of her home.
Mr. Li Jiwei, living in the same community, was fired from work for practicing Falun Gong several years ago. His work unit still frequently sends people to harass him.
Ms. Li Jifang, Mr. Li Jiwei’s sister, was harassed by people from her work unit and her community in recent days.
Ms. He Xiuyun was arrested by Zhang Hua and Mi Yuefeng from Hecheng City Domestic Security Division and officers from Yingfeng Police Station on November 12, 2020. She is being held at a detention center.
Ms. Guan Dejuan was arrested by three officers from the Qingnian Road Police Station between 9 p.m and 10 p.m on November 22, 2010. The officers seized Falun Gong materials from her home.
Ms. Li Fenghua was harassed at home during an afternoon in mid-March 2020. Her village Communist Party secretary led half a dozen officers from the Mancheng Town Police Station to ransack her home. They seized her Falun Gong books in her son’s car. They took Ms. Li and drove the car to the police station.
Ms. Li was interrogated by five officers. They questioned where she distributed Falun Gong keepsakes, where she got them, what her phone number was, what her husband’s phone number was, etc. They pressured her to sign the “three statements,” but she did not comply. An officer called her son and intimidated him. Finally they had her son take her home.
Ms. Wang Xinghui was harassed at her shop by Baoji Town leader Zhu (first name unknown), Baoji Road Police Station officer Qin Haijun, and four agents from Huangtuxian Community on the morning of November 14, 2020. The harassers demanded that she sign the “three statements” and videotaped the process. Ms. Wang refused.
Ms. Wang was harassed again at her shop by Zhu and agents from 610 Office, Political and Legal Affairs Committee, and community on the morning of November 19, 2020. Again, the harassers demanded that she sign the “three statements” and videotaped the process. She refused.
Ms. Xu Xuejun was harassed at her shop by Zhu, officers from the police station, and agents from the community, 610 Office, and Political and Legal Affairs Committee on the morning of November 19, 2020. The harassers demanded that she sign the “three statements” and videotaped the process. Ms. Xu refused. They called her husband and son and threatened to suspend their salaries if Ms. Xu did not comply.
Ms. Yue Xiuhua and Ms. Zhao Junfeng were arrested on July 6 and 16, 2020, respectively. They are being held at the Pinggu Detention Center. Their cases were submitted to the court in early November 2020.
Ms. Mao Dejun, 66, a retired middle school teacher, was arrested at home by officers from the Junan County Domestic Security Division and the Chengxi Police Station on August 11, 2020. She has been detained for three and a half months, exceeding the legal limit.
The Linshu County Procuratorate charged Ms. Mao and filed a case with the Linshu County Court on November 19, 2020. She is scheduled to be tried on December 1, 2020.
Ms. Wang Li in her 50s, Ms. Cui (first name unknown) in her 50s, and Mr. Bao (first name unknown) in his 70s were arrested on November 12, 2020. Details are unknown.
Ms. Wang Lizhi and Ms. Tian Yumei were arrested by officers from the Nanfen Railroad Police Station on November 17, 2020, when they were distributing Falun Gong flyers.
Ms. Cheng Shifeng was arrested at home at noon on November 19, 2020. Her home was ransacked. Some practitioners went into hiding to avoid being persecuted since the place was a group study site.
Ms. Wang was released. Ms. Cheng is being held at the Benxi Detention Center.
Ms. Zhang Xueying and Ms. Li Xuemei have been harassed by agents from community since October 2020. The agents threatened Ms. Zhang with the jobs of her children and grandchildren, and they called Ms. Li daily.
Mr. Liu Zhengguang has been repeatedly harassed by Communist Party members from the city, county, town, and village since October 2020. The harassers demanded Mr. Liu sign a guarantee not to distribute Falun Gong materials or talk to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Mr. Liu refused. They then had the leader of his son’s work unit to claim they would fire his son. Mr. Liu family is under immense pressure.
Mr. Liu was taken to Shangmei Town from home by Party members and people from his son’s work unit in early November. They tried to coerce him into slandering Falun Gong and signing papers they had prepared.
Ms. Li Dailian is 75 years old. Her home was ransacked by officers from the Wangcheng County Police Department on the morning of October 28, 2020. The officers seized a copy of Zhuan Falun, other Falun Gong books, an audio player, and other personal property.
Ms. Xiong Maoyi’s home was ransacked the same day. Ms. Xiong is 77 years old. Confiscation details are unknown.
The home of Mr. Zhang Guangbing, who is 78 years old, was ransacked, too.
Ms. Li was called to the Wangcheng County Police Department on the morning of November 10, 2020. She returned home.
Ms. Wang Peizhen was arrested by officers from the Zhujiangdao Police Station on the morning of August 10, 2020. She is being held at the Qinhuangdao No. 1 Detention Center.
Ms. Lu Guangbo’s husband was notified at work by his leader on November 21, 2020, that the leader had received a call from Wang Tie from the Huanan County Political and Legal Affairs Committee and was asked to tell Ms. Lu’s husband that Ms. Lu needed to go to the community, take pictures, and sign the “three statements.”
Ms. Li Huili’s family received a call from a Communist Party department around November 10, 2020. The caller asked if Ms. Li still practiced Falun Gong and said that they would go to Ms. Li’s home to verify it. The family member refused.
Ms. Li Zhengqing is a 77-year-old practitioner. Her child received a call from a Communist Party department around November 10, 2020. The caller asked if she still practiced Falun Gong and said that they would go to her home to verify it. The child refused.
Ms. Wang Xiujie was arrested by officers from the Huoju Police Station on November 22, 2020, after someone reported her for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.
Ms. Qiu Yunlian, Ms. Huang Yuying, Ms. Yuan Qunrui, Ms. Deng Shier, Ling Wangjin (gender unknown), Mr. Ye Lijian, Ms. Yang Xiangdi, Ms. Li Xindi, and Ms. Huang Cailan have been repeatedly harassed by agents from Heyuan City Political and Legal Affairs Committee, 610 Office, Community Committees, and police officers.
Their family members have also been harassed and intimidated. The harassers have been pressuring the practitioners into signing “three statements.” Sometimes one or two dozen people would force their way into a practitioner’s home, forcibly carry the practitioner to a police station, and pressure the practitioner into signing. A director of the Heyuan City Political and Legal Affairs Committee intimidated a practitioner’s family, saying that they would keep pressuring the practitioner into signing and wouldn’t stop even if the practitioner jumped out of the building.
Two dozen plainclothes officers led by the Heilongjiang Province 610 Office director, Daqing Domestic Security Division head, and Tieren Police Department head raided practitioners’ homes and arrested practitioners on November 22, 2020. To deceive practitioners into opening their doors, they impersonated property management and pretended to be doing residential registrations. It is known that seven practitioners were arrested in three communities. Among the arrested are Ms. Han Lihua, Ms. Zhao (first name unknown), and Ms. Hu (first name unknown), in their 70s. Other communities’ situation is unknown.
Since October 2020, practitioners in Heilongjiang Province have been harassed at home by police and agents from communities, the 610 Office, and work units. The harassers pressured practitioners to write the “three statements” and threatened their salaries and pensions. When practitioners did not comply, the harassers went after their parents, husbands, wives, and children; some even went to schools to harass their grandchildren.
Mr. He Guowang, in his 60s, was forced to write a guarantee statement by a brigade cadre in July 2020.
Mr. Li (first name unknown), in his 60s, is disabled. Police pretended to process his disability card and deceived him into signing a “guarantee statement” in August 2020.
Ms. Xu Yibao, in her 70s, was forced to write a “guarantee statement” by police in September 2020. The officers told her that her child could join the military only if she wrote the statement.
Ms. Ge Xiyuan, in her 50s, working at Tongcheng County Hospital, was forced to write a “guarantee statement” in October 2020.
Similarly, Ms. Li Yanhong, in her 60s, was forced to sign a “guarantee statement” in November 2020.
Ms. Ren Huifang was harassed at home by agents from her community and officers from the Chalukou Police Station on the morning of October 18, 2020. The harassers said, “Is Ren Huifang home? Tell her to write this thing.” She refused. They then told her to sign a document and said, “We won’t bother you again after you sign it.” A man videotaped the scene using his cell phone.
Ms. Zhang Guilan was harassed by Wu Chunchang and other community staff members.
Mr. Shao Qingming was harassed by community staff.
Ms. Fei Menglin was harassed at work at Mayan County No. 3 Middle School by Ma Tengyou from the Mayan County Education Bureau on the afternoon of November 23, 2020. Ma brought a document and demanded that Ms. Fei sign it.
