(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 26 cities or counties in 14 provinces, where at least 63 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Zhang Lihua, 76, was arrested at home by officers from the Shangzhi City Domestic Security Division on November 9, 2019. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated a picture of Falun Gong founder and some Minghui Weekly. She has since been held at the Harbin Prison. She was sentenced to three years in prison by the Acheng Court on October 12, 2020.
Liu Feng (gender unknown), a teacher in Shangzhi City No. 5 Middle School, has been missing for more than two years. After the 2018 Chinese New Year, an insider secretly revealed that teacher Liu was arrested by officers from the Shangzhi Railroad Station but had no information on where he/she was being held or if the practitioner had been sentenced.
Ms. Xue Aimei will be tried online, Court Video 204, by the Nanshan District Court at 2 p.m. on November 18, 2020.
Grandma Zhu’s home was ransacked by the police after 8 a.m. on November 13, 2020, after someone reported her for giving people Falun Gong flyers. The officers seized a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, a copy of The Ultimate Goal of Communism, and two cell phones. They tore a paper with the character Fu, a was a traditional Chinese blessing, off her door.
Ms. Jia Ruiling will be tried by the Yanta Court on the afternoon of November 18, 2020.
Mr. Li Haijun of Xinbin County was arrested by officers from the Xinbin Town Police Station on the morning of November 10, 2020. It was said that he would be detained for 10 days. He is being held at the Fushun Detention Center.
Ms. Xue Lianxia was arrested by officers from the Dazhushan Police Station on November 11, 2020. She was released on bail on the morning of November 12. Her daughter paid 5,000 yuan in bail to the police station.
Five practitioners of Xiangshan County, including Ms. Chen Jufen and Ms. Zhao Xiulian, were taken to a brainwashing center located in Xishange Hotel from home around October 20, 2020. They have been held for over 20 days. Their family has heard nothing from them.
Kang Huazhi (gender unknown) was arrested and brought to the county Domestic Security Division on October 31, 2020, after being reported talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Kang was later taken to the Xingtai No. 1 Detention Center. It has been more than 10 days.
Ms. Ye Qingli was arrested at home by officers from the Xinggong Street Police Station and the Shahekou District Police Department in the evening of November 12, 2020. She was cooking when she heard knocking on the door and “residency registration check.” She opened the door. Five officers barged in, handcuffed her, and took her away. Her father, in his 80s, was scared and left alone.
Ms. Ye’s family received detention notification from the police station at noon on November 14, 2020. Ms. Ye was taken to the Dalian Detention Center on November 13, 2020.
Ms. Yang Yuehong of Wuchang City was harassed at work by Wuchang Town Communist Party deputy director Shi Hongquan and three others. They videotaped the incident and demanded she signed a repentance statement. She refused. Her daughter was also harassed at work. Officers ordered her to sign. She did not comply.
Ms. Cui Weiwei was arrested by officers from the Xingfu Police Station on the morning of November 9, 2020, when she was distributing Falun Gong flyers. Five officers took her home at noon and ransacked the place. They seized over 200,000 yuan cash, around 2,000 yuan in paper bills that had Falun Gong information printed on them, a printer, a computer, several cell phones, speakers, Falun Gong books, and other items. Ms. Cui and her 20-year-old son were handcuffed and taken away at 6 p.m. Her son was released the next day. She is imprisoned at the Weizigou Detention Center. Family visits are not allowed.
Ms. Meng Xiuqin, her husband, and Ms. Wang Baoling were arrested by Zhaili Town Police Station officers after 5 a.m. on November 11, 2020. They were released that night.
“I cannot sell you a ticket,” a Liuhe County Passenger Terminal ticket clerk told Ms. Li Jinying on October 26, 2020, when the clerk learned Ms. Li was a practitioner and was buying a ticket to Changchun to visit her daughter. Two took Ms. Li back to her home and told her that she was barred from leaving Liuhe County.
Rao Hongsheng (gender unknown) was arrested on November 3, 2020.
Ms. Yao Shuxia of Hailin City was subjected to 15 days detention by the Hailin City No. 4 Police Station. Her daughter went to pick her up on the end day, November 15, 2020, and learned the No. 1 Police Station subjected Ms. Yao to another 15 days detention.
Mr. Yu Chunbo and his wife were detained by the Ziyou Boulevard Police Station on the morning of November 13, 2020. Mr. Yu and his wife are being held at the No. 2 Detention Center and No. 4 Detention Center, respectively.
Ms. Xiong Xiangyu, 78, was held for 24 hours by officers from the Yueyatang Police Station on July 14, 2020, after someone reported her talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The officers ransacked her home, confiscated a copy of Zhuan Falun and five copies of Minghui Weekly, and extorted 10,000 yuan from Ms. Xiong’s daughter without a receipt.
Ms. Xiong’s home was ransacked by officers from the Jinxing Police Station on August 13, 2020. The officers seized a copy of Zhenjian Weekly.
Ms. Xiong was harassed at home by police in November 2020. The officers intimidated her, saying she was released on bail and would be subpoenaed anytime.
Ms. Chen Xiaochun and Ms. Wu Xiuru were arrested on November 13, 2020, after someone reported them talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Ms. Chen’s home was ransacked. Police seized a picture of the founder of Falun Gong and all of her Falun Gong books. Ms. Wu was released at night. Ms. Chen was taken away.
Ms. Xiao Kunying was harassed at home by officers from the Longfeng Town Police Station in mid-October, 2020.
Practitioner Zeng Chongsu (gender unknown) received a harassing call from Fuyuan Road Police Station in mid-October, 2020. Another source said the harassing call was from Guangming Street Police Station.
Ms. Li Yumei and Ms. He Sufang were harassed at home by officers from Pengnan Town Police Station in mid-October, 2020.
Ms. Li Yajun, Tan Zhongcheng (gender unknown), Chen Shihe, and Pu Qinyu received harassing calls from the Pengnan Town Police Station in mid-October, 2020.
Mr. Li Minfu was harassed at home by five people from the Wuqing District Political and Legal Affairs Committee and Community Committee at the end of October 2020. They ordered him to sign a repentance statement. They harassed Mr. Li at home again two days later and pretended to be looking for a job for him.
Ms. Du Zuofen, in her 70s, was arrested at home by officers from the Linjiang Road Police Station on the morning of July 22, 2020. Some officers interrogated her while the others ransacked her home and seized over 30 Falun Gong books. They took her to the police station. Her children pleaded with police, explaining that their mother suffered numerous diseases and recovered after practicing Falun Gong. She was too old to be a threat to anyone or do anything. The officers finally released her in the late afternoon after they threatened her children.
Six practitioners of Zhoucun District were arrested at home on November 11, 2020. They were Cao Yuling and Wang Guilan of Wangchun Town, Ma Shuguang and Zhang Chunling of 83 Factory, Li Shuai and Zhang Feng of Pengyang Town.
Cao Yuling, Wang Guilan, Ma Shuguang, and Zhang Chunling were released on bail on the evening of November 13. Li Shuai and Zhang Feng were subjected to criminal detention and were held for three days in the Wangcun Police Station. Their cell phones were confiscated.
Wu Xiaoqiao (gender unknown) was harassed five times in October 2020 by Dongwang Town government deputy mayor Wang Wei, Dongwang Town Police Station director Zheng Hao, and others. They tried to force Wu to make fingerprints.
Mr. Wang Yaolai, 78, and Ms. Li Derong, 77, were harassed at home for a whole day by seven officers from the Zhangguizhuang Police Station on November 13, 2020. Two officers stayed at their home until 6 p.m. Mr. Wang and Ms. Li were arrested and taken to the Zhangguizhuang Police Station on the afternoon of November 14, 2020.
Ms. Kong Lingjuan was arrested at her family-owned doctor's office by unknown people at noon on November 11, 2020. Details are unknown.
Mr. Liu Changshu, 69, of Daying County, was arrested by several plainclothes officers on the morning of October 15, 2020. The officers dragged him into a police car and drove to the Jiahe Police Station. Police interrogated him. When they did not get what they wanted from him, they held him in the Yongxing Detention Center for 14 days. After he was released, Mr. Liu learned that, when he was detained, police ransacked his home and seized all of his Falun Gong books, an almanac with 200 yuan in cash inside, and other items.
Ms. Ma Jingru was harassed at home by five people from the Beishichang Street Police Station and Guangxingmao Community on the morning of November 10, 2020. They ordered her to sign a repentance document. She did not comply.
Ms. Wang Guifan’s home was ransacked by officers from the Ningyuan Town Police Station on October 19, 2020. Ms. Wang was not at home. The officers seized more than 30 Falun Gong books. The village head had visited Ms. Wang’s home before and told her that they wanted her to renounce Falun Gong on video.
Mr. Zhang Yong and wife Ms. Feng Jinlian were harassed at home by Hongxiang Town Political and Legal Affairs Committee secretary and government agents on November 11, 2020. The agents asked if they still practiced Falun Gong. They said yes. The agents left, but came back and tried to make them renounce Falun Gong on November 12.
Large scale and continuous harassment against practitioners has happened in some cities and counties since August 2020. Agents from Political and Legal Affairs Committees, 610 Office; officers from Domestic Security Divisions, police departments and stations; agents from street and community offices and committees; village cadres, and work units’ leaders have been involved. They tried to force practitioners to sign or press fingerprints on documents renouncing Falun Gong. Practitioners who did not comply were arrested. Even their children were arrested. Their homes were ransacked. Their pensions were stopped. They were warned that they would lose their jobs, their children would be fired from public positions, their lands or rental apartments would be taken back, their grandchildren would not be admitted to school, their children would not be allowed to open business, their shops would be closed. Their spouses were pressed to divorce them. They were ordered to make up Communist Party membership fees. The property managers of residential communities where practitioners lived were harassed.
Mr. Wang Yuzhou and wife Ms. Pang Qualan, Shi Xiufeng (gender unknown), Ms. Sun Yajuan, Ms. Xi Fuyan and sister Ms. Xi Hua, Ms. Zuo Ruiying were harassed by officers from the Xihuayuan Police Station and agents from the street office. The officers threatened the practitioners with stopping their pensions and firing their children from their jobs. After Ms. Xi Hua refused to sign, the officers arrested her son. Her son was in poor health. She went to the police station and explained the case. Her son was finally released.
Ding Gan (gender unknown) refused to sign and was arrested and locked up by officers from the Wenhua Street Police Station. The officers arrested Ding’s son. They gave Ding three white papers, said, “Your son will be released if you sign these white papers.” Ding was forced to sign.
Ms. Zhang of Shiyou City refused to sign. Her husband could not bear repeated harassment and threats any more. He recently forced a divorce.
Ms. Wu Jingfang was harassed in August 2020. Because she refused to sign, officers from the Wenhua Street Police Station and agents from the community kept harassing her. The officers called her to the police station from work, called her husband there, and made her husband force her to sign. She refused again. The officers locked her in a small room and threatened to file charges against her with the Procuratorate. Her husband was scared and signed for her behind her back.
Li Dan (gender unknown) is being held at the Nanshan Police Department Detention Center.
Ms. Li Benxiu visited Jigongshan tourist site in September 2020. Her younger sister received several calls from the Jigongshan Police Department in the end of September. The callers said Falun Gong flyers were found in the tourist site during Ms. Li’s visit, she distributed Falun Gong flyers there, and had to go to the police department and fill out a form. Officers were sent to arrest Ms. Li in her son’s home in Wuhan City, Hubei Province. Ms. Li was not there. They then worked with officers in the Gongqu Road Police Station, and tried to arrested Ms. Li at home. Ms. Li fled her home.
On the afternoon of October 23, 2020, Ms. Li was arrested in a building in the former family compound of Xinyang City Chemical Plant by three officers from the Gongqu Road Police Station. The officers pushed Ms. Li into a police car and took her to the police station. The officers tried to take pictures. Ms. Li did not comply. An officer grabbed her shoulders. The other took the pictures. They ordered Ms. Li to empty out her pockets, and took pictures of three paper bills with Falun Gong information printed on them. They then ordered her to fill out and sign a form. Ms. Li did not comply. Ms. Li escaped around 7 p.m. and has since been in hiding.
