(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 22 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 36 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Wang Yanbo from the Pretrial Division of Chaoyang Police Department called Ms. Zhou Shuping’s family on November 10, 2020, and told them that the Chaoyang Police Department was preparing to file Ms. Zhou’s case with the Procuratorate and court. She is being held in the Changchun City No. 4 Detention Center.
Mr. Xue Fuxiang, about 72, from Xihui Village, Guanzhuang Township, Chaoyang District, was harassed several times at home by a residential police officer from the Ruixiangli Residential Community and personnel from the Xihui Village Committee.
They told him to write guarantee statements renouncing Falun Gong, and threatened him with adverse impact on his family members’ employment, education, and pensions.
Mr. Xue’s family members were also forced by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials to put pressure on him. He endured tremendous mental pressure. In order to avoid being taken to brainwashing sessions, he left home in mid-September 2020.
Ms. Du Yongjing recently received a harassing call from someone claiming to be a residential police officer. The officer asked her if she was still practicing Falun Gong. She refused to answer.
Ms. Du’s husband Mr. Wei Liangyue is a lawyer, who has defended Falun Gong practitioners’ innocence on numerous occasions. Recently he was traveling out of town on business, and was repeatedly examined and questioned by the police at bus and railway terminals.
Mr. Gu Yanqing in Chengzitan Town, Pulandian District, was arrested by officers from the Chengzitan Police Station on July 11, 2020. He is being held in the Pulandian Detention Center. Family visits have not been allowed.
Three officers from the Jidong County Domestic Security Division and the Yong’an Town Police Station went to the homes of Ms. Liu Shuqin, Ms. Liu Xiumei, and Ms. Lu Wenfan, and ransacked the places on November 3, 2020.
Several Falun Dafa books were confiscated from the homes of Ms. Liu Shuqin and Ms. Liu Xiumei.
The officers went to Ms. Liu Shuqin’s home the following day, and asked her to sign paperwork. They threatened that whoever came to her home, she had to report to the police, otherwise she would be arrested. They also went to Ms. Lu’s home, rummaged around, and demanded that she hand over Falun Dafa books and videos.
Ms. Cui Weiwei was arrested by officers from the Xinfu Township Police Station. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated a computer, a printer, and 200,000 yuan in cash. Ms. Cui is being held in the Weizigou Detention Center.
Ms. Peng Xueying, in her 70s, was notified by the Meishan City Court that she would be tried on the afternoon of November 18, 2020.
Ms. Yu Junxiao and her daughter Ms. Hu Fangyan from Pinggu District went to Peking Union Medical College Hospital to visit their family member who was hospitalized on the morning of November 11, 2020. They were stopped, questioned, arrested, and taken to the Dongsi Police Station, in Dongcheng District.
They were later transferred to the Dongcheng District Police Department. Four officers went to Ms. Yu’s home, ransacked the place, and confiscated Falun Dafa books and printed materials. Both practitioners’ current whereabouts are unclear.
Practitioner Wu Mingfeng (gender unknown) was harassed at home several times by people from the comprehensive management office and the police station in Shidi Town, and security officer Liao Shaoyou in Shuangwa Village. Wu was told to sign guarantee statements renouncing Falun Gong, but Wu refused. These people also threatened Wu’s family.
Three people, including a residential police officer, Party secretary Feng Yingmin of local community residential committee, and a person from the sub-district comprehensive management office, went to Ms. Xie Hongzhu’s home in Jing’an District on October 13, 2020. They told her to sign paperwork, which she refused. Feng became irritated and threatened to smash the statue of the founder of Falun Gong.
In the end, she resolutely refused to sign. Feng smashed the statue before forcibly taking the statue away.
Practitioners Lu Guilan and Zhou Enbo (gender unknown) were arrested at home by officers from the 610 Office, the police department, and the Domestic Security Division in Linqing City on November 9, 2020. A large number of personal belongings were confiscated. Both practitioners were brought home on the following afternoon due to high blood pressure. The officials installed cameras at the two practitioners’ homes.
Ms. He Xiufeng, a retired teacher from Jiachuan Town Primary School, Wangcang County, was tried by the Wangcang County Court on September 16, 2020. She was given a two-year prison term with three years of probation and fined 1,000 yuan on September 22.
Ms. He Jingxin, an employee of the No. 2 Mine Oilfield of No. 6 Oil Production Plant, was forced to sign guarantee statements by Lu Gang, a 610 officer at the plant, on November 11, 2020. She refused.
Ms. Wang Chunling from Longtan District was arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong and distributing Falun Gong materials on November 10, 2020. She was taken to the Jilin City Detention Center for ten days of detention.
Ms. Zhang Guixia in Xinbin County was reported to the police by Song Yuping (Party secretary) and Zhang Zengyou (deputy Party secretary) of Wangqingmen Town on June 9, 2020.
She was arrested and her home was ransacked by officers from the Wangqingmen Police Station. She was transferred to the Fushun City Detention Center after being held in the Xinbin County Detention Center for 15 days.
After the investigation by the Xinbin County Police Department ended, the Shuncheng District Procuratorate brought charges against her in the Shuncheng District Court. She will be tried in the Nangou Detention Center at 9:00 a.m. on November 13, 2020.
Ms. Gao Yulan, in her 50s, was arrested by several police officers on November 12, 2020.
Ms. Cui Chengxiang in Anning District was notified to go to the police station to sign paperwork on November 10, 2020. She was arrested after she got there. Her family was notified the following day. She is being held in the Lanzhou No. 1 Detention Center.
Ms. Xiao Yanfang and Mr. Liu Yibo were arrested by officers from the Hanchuan City Domestic Security Division on November 11, 2020. Both practitioners were taken to the Hanchuan City No. 1 Detention Center the following day.
Mr. Zhang Keliang in Shouguang City was arrested near his workplace by officers from the Shengcheng Police Station at around 11:00 a.m. on November 11, 2020.
Mr. Zhang’s wife Ms. Wang Zhongyun and a female practitioner Huili, who was visiting Ms. Wang, were trapped at home, and watched by plainclothes officers.
Mr. Han Yuntai, in his 80s, from Maoling Village, Kuangdonggou Town, Gaizhou City, was arrested by officers from the Gaizhou City 610 Office, the domestic security division, and the local police station, at around 9:00 p.m. on October 31, 2020.
Ms. Yang Cuiyun in Chaigoubu Town, Huai’an County, was told by village official Wu Wansheng, to go to a brainwashing center on October 28, 2020. She refused to go. She was again told to go there the following day, and again refused.
Wu and Village Party secretary Sheng Lin called about ten people to come to arrest her. She was taken to the brainwashing center. She returned home the following day.
Mr. Liang Fuguo in Hongguang Farm, Qianguo County, received a harassing phone call from Lu (an unidentified person in the county) in early November 2020. Lu told Mr. Liang to go to a “transformation” class on November 19. Mr. Liang told him no.
Ms. Xiao Yuxia, 58, will be tried by the Wuhua District Court at the No. 14 Trial Chamber on the second floor of the court at 9:30 a.m. on November 18, 2020.
Ms. Xiao was arrested at home by officers from the Guandu District Domestic Security Division and the Juhua Police Station on September 6, 2019. She has been held in the Kunming City Detention Center.
Ms. Zhao Xin, 69, was arrested on August 16, 2020, and was officially placed under arrest by the Chuanying District Police Department four days later. Her case was turned over to the Chuanying District Procuratorate on September 8, and brought to the Chuanying District Court on October 11. She will be tried soon.
Ms. Zhao Huicheng and her husband Mr. Meng Yuanlin received a phone call from the Social Security Bureau of Mianzhu City in early September 2020, and were asked to go to the bureau. The couple did not go.
That month, more than 200 yuan was deducted from Mr. Meng’s backlogged salary. On October 9, they went to the bank to withdraw their pensions and found that the Social Security Bureau had withheld their pensions for two months, which resulted in financial difficulties for the couple.
Over a dozen plainclothes officers from the Taishan Station Police Station and the Daiyue District Domestic Security Division broke into the home of Mr. Yin Zhaoxiang, 66, and his wife Ms. Wang Peijuan, 63, at around 10:30 p.m. on July 8, 2020. The officers arrested the couple, took them to the police station, and interrogated them.
The officers ransacked their home and confiscated Falun Dafa books, audio players, and cell phones.
After the couple was released on bail, domestic security officer Xu Chongjun and other people often staked out their building downstairs, followed and monitored the couple, and harassed them frequently over the phone.
Police officers went to look for Ms. Xie Shubin in the residential community where she lives on September 12, 2020. They called her on the phone and asked her to go to the community office to sign statements for “Creating a Civilized City.” Her husband went to the office to sign. The community officials said that they would go to his home to search and videotape the process.
Xiao Bo, a 610 officer, and Huang Kang, an officer from the Hejiangmen Police Station, went to Ms. Xie’s home on September 13, 2020. They took her to the Lingang No. 2 Hospital for a nucleic acid test. They asked about the truth-clarifying materials. She was taken to a police station interrogation in the afternoon. The officers asked her to sign the interrogation transcript, but she refused. In the end, Ms. Xie was detained for ten days.
