(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 33 cities or counties in 17 provinces, where at least 71 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Four practitioners including Meng Kunling (gender unknown), Ms. Qiu Ziqin, Ms. He Sanmei, and Ms. Wang Suqin were arrested around 3 p.m., October 26, 2020, by combined police agencies. Meng’s home was ransacked around 5 p.m. that afternoon. The police took several printers, printing paper, cash, and other valuables.
Yu Hong (gender unknown) in the Nanan District was arrested on October 25, 2020, by officers from Danzishi Police Station and Shangshui County Domestic Security Division. The practitioner’s whereabouts are unknown.
Ms. Zhou Liangchun from Lanxigudi Community, Shapingba District, was arrested at home around October 24, 2020.
Yuan Rong (gender unknown) from Shapingba District was arrested at the home of Zhou Liangchun in Nanxigudi Community, Shapingba District two days ago. It is reported that eight people were arrested at the same time.
Five people from local police station came to Mr. Sun Pijin’s home in Dongrulai Village, Mengyin County to harass him on the morning of October 25, 2020. Mr. Sun was not at home at that time. They told his family that Mr. Sun was requested to participate in a “study” group in a hotel and also requested to take a physical exam. They threatened that it’s mandatory and that they would use force if he refused to do so.
The daughter of Ms. Chen Fenglan and the husband of Ms. Zhang Xiuhua received the so-called “four statements” via Wechat from Zhang Jinguang in the Human Resource of Laobaigan Corp on October 16, 2020. They were told to write them down with a pen and to ask their family member to sign it. When Ms. Chen and Ms. Zhang refused to sign, their family members fought against them out of fear.
Ms. Xing Fuying and Ms. Chang Luyun are both over 70 years old and from Qiushuwan Village of Xingjiaman. They were arrested at home on October 24, 2020 by the police from Yaocun Town Police Station. Their whereabouts are unknown.
Mr. Liu Baolin from Dongli District had suffered eight years in prison from October 2012 to 2020. During his detention, his pension was paid regularly, which is total of about 270,000 yuan. However, after he was released home, he was told by the Social Security Bureau of Dongli District that he must pay back the pension payment he received during his detention, otherwise, they will confiscate his personal property and suspend his pension.
Ms. Wang Qiudong was harassed at home on the afternoon of October 13, 2020, by four people from Hengshan County Police Department, Lianglukou Police Station, and the local community. They demanded that she stop practicing Falun Gong. Three of them, including police officer Luo, videotaped her home during the process.
Ms. Lu Huizhi was harassed at home on September 29, 2020, by Qiu Jinfu, director of Nanyang Street Community in charge of security, and Cao Yu, chief of Qiaotouying Village. They ordered Ms. Lu to sign the statement promising not to practice Falun Gong. Qiu Jinfu also photographed her home. Ms. Lu refused their request and also tried to clarify the truth to them.
The husband of Ms. Pei Shaofei received the harassment call from Penglai Police Station of Yiliang County around August 25, 2020.
Chu Zhanhua (gender unknown) from Mulan County was arrested at home on September 23, 2020, by police officer Zhang Shenyong from the No. 1 Police Station, who cooperated with the Mulan County Domestic Security Division. Chu’s home was ransacked and personal belongings were taken away, including a whole set of Dafa books, computer, printer, printing papers, etc. The next day Chu was bailed out by her relative and was placed under house arrest.
Chu was informed to come to Mulan County Police Department to take a document on October 21. She didn’t cooperate and left her home.
Ms. Zhao Renxia from Qingdao Development Zone was sentenced to seven years in prison and fined 20,000 yuan in Huangdao District Court on July 30, 2020. She appealed to Qingdao Intermediate Court.
Mr. Cui Yongqiang from Qingdao Development Zone was sentenced to two years and six months in prison and fined 10,000 yuan in Huangdao District Court on July 30, 2020. He appealed to Qingdao Intermediate Court.
Their cases were transferred to Qingdao Intermediate Court on October 20, 2020.
Zhao Fuyun (gender unknown) from Xujiagou Township was reported to the police for distributing truth-clarifying materials in the mountainous villages and was arrested on October 20, 2020, by Anyang County Domestic Security Division police officers. The practitioner's home was ransacked. Zhao is currently detained in Anyang City Detention Center.
Four practitioners in Baozidian Village of Baozidian Town, including Ms. Wei Guozhen, Song Xiuhua, Ye Shulin, and Zhou Jincheng, were harassed at home by the village officials Zhao Xiaoqiang and Song Xiaolin on August 12, 2020.
Husband and wife Mr. Wang Zhenlin and Ms. Xiong Yanrong from Huahua Service Office of Huabei Oilfield, Shenze County, were harassed at home on the morning of October 24, 2020, by seven or eight people, led by Di Liqi, deputy of Shenze County Police Department. They didn’t show their IDs or search warrent. Some questioned the couple, while others searched the house. They took a copy of Zhuan Falun.
On the same morning, six of them, led by Di Liqi, also came to harass Ms. He Suzhen from Huali Service Office of Huabei Oilfield. Without showing any documents, they forcibly searched the house and took away a copy of Zhuan Falun and a dozen amulets.
Mr. Xu Chunyang was reported to the police and arrested at home by more than ten policemen from the “610 Office” on August 7, 2020. They searched his home but didn’t find any evidence related to the false accusation. They took away his personal belongings including Dafa books, a computer, printer, and music player. He was placed under 15-day detention.
The son of Ms. Guo Suling received a notice from Quwo County Court that Ms. Guo Suling from Houma City will be tried this week. The exact date is unknown.
Wang Qiying (gender unknown) was arrested on the afternoon of October 22, and Mo Deqing (gender unknown) was arrested on the afternoon of October 23.
Ms. Li Shouqing, 57, from Jiangbin New Village was arrested in the farmers' market on the morning of October 22 when she went to buy vegetables. Later more than ten police officers ransacked her home and took away her computer, printer, Dafa books, and other items. She is currently detained in Zhenjiang Detention Center under 15-day administrative detention.
Ms. Zhou Deyuan and Ms. Li Lan were arrested on the evening of October 21, 2020, by officers from Jingwanzi Police Station in Yuhua District, when they were walking outside. Ms. Li’s home was ransacked and Dafa books were taken. Currently they are detained in Changsha Detention House. Ms. Zhou Deyuan is under 15-day administrative detention and Ms. Li Lan under 10-day administrative detention.
Many practitioners in Luannan County have been harassed in recent months. Ms. Shi Zhiqin from Xiazhuang Village was harassed at home on July 3, 2020, by two police officers and two village officials. They threatened her that her son would not be allowed to enter the military if she continued to practice Falun Gong. They demanded that she press her fingerprint on a statement and threatened that she would be arrested if she refused to do so.
The daughter-in-law of Ms. Li Huafang from Xiazhuang Village of Changning Town was harassed by the village officials and signed the statement they prepared on her behalf.
Xin Jianfu (gender unknown) lives in Tuchengzi Village, Eru Township of Qianguo County. Xin was harassed at home on October 22, 2020. Led by Sun, a judicial assistant in Eru Township and the village party director Gu Zhongwei, several people came to Xin’s home. They demanded Xin that write the so-called “guarantee statement” and threatened Xin with the future of Xin’s descendants if Xin refused to do so. Xin firmly rejected them.
Ms. Dong Mei will be tried on the morning of October 28, 2020.
Ms. Wang Guoying in Pinggu District was harassed at home on October 22, 2020, by two policemen. They checked the rooms in the house and photographed Ms. Wang and her niece Ms. Yang Xiaofeng, who was there to take care of the paralyzed Ms. Wang.
Ms. Wang had been detained because of practicing Falun Gong. Her niece Ms. Yang also practices Falun Gong and had been arrested eight times and detained for more than eight years in total. She had suffered mental breakdowns and memory loss due to the persecution, and her life was in danger at one point.
The daughter of Ms. Wang dropped out of college and had gone through treatment for mental issues several times because of the persecution against her mother and her cousin Ms. Yang. The husband of Ms. Wang was paralyzed after Ms. Wang and Ms. Yang were persecuted. He died soon after hearing about Ms. Yang’s bad news again.
Suffering such a family tragedy, Ms. Wang Guoying was soon paralyzed as well and was not clear-minded. Ms. Yang Xiaofeng had to work hard to take care of this broken family.
Ms. Liu Yueying and her daughter Ms. Ge Dan were arrested at home around 9 a.m., October 26, 2020, by seven or eight police officers, led by Cai Jinlin, head of the Fuyuan County Domestic Security Division. They ransacked the home and took away her computer, printer, and more than 30 Dafa books.
On the same day, Mr. Yu Lijun was also arrested at home.
Ms. Wang Hehua was arrested near Chongqing Street on the afternoon of October 20, 2020, by Chongqing Street Police Station officers for clarifying the truth. She was sent to Weizigou Detention Center on the same day. When Ms. Wang’s family members went there the next day to deliver clothes to her, they were turned away but were told to pay 500 yuan. The guard there couldn’t say whether Ms. Wang had been formally arrested or how long she would be detained.
Ms. Chen Suling, over 70 years old, was arrested at home on the morning of October 26, 2020, by four police officers including Gao from Liaoyang County Domestic Security Division. They ransacked her home and took away a printer.
Ms. Wang Shuqing lives in Toutai Village of Fengshan District. Her son was called to meet the village chief Zheng Guicheng and a local police officer on the morning of October 26, 2020. He was told to sign the so-called “three statements” on behalf of his mother, which he refused to do.
Ms. Ren Guozhen lives in Dalun Village of Longxing Town, Dongpo District. Her home was ransacked on October 16, 2020, by local police and the village officials including Wang Wanming. They took away Dafa books and a photo of Falun Gong's founder. Now Ms. Ren has to stay away from her home.
Mr. Zhang Henghai (65 years old) and Ms. Fu Xueju (64 years old) live in Qianyanjiazhuang Village, Qiujiadian Town of Taishan District. They were harassed at home on October 22, 2020, by officer Ma from Qiujiadian Police Station and a village official. They demanded the couple stop practicing Falun Gong.
They came to the couple’s home again on October 25 and informed them that the new head of the local police station would come to their home the next day and requested them to cooperate.
On October 26, the new head of the local police station, Ma, and the village official came. They told the couple that they would be taken to a brainwashing center the next day. They then tried to threaten the couple via their daughters.
Sun Yanning (gender unknown) received a notice from the Urban Management Bureau of Zhaoyuan County on the morning of October 26, saying that Sun's job and salary were both suspended. Sun was threatened with being fired if he refused to sign the statement promising not to practice Falun Gong.
Ms. Wang Lin, around 40 years old, is a teacher at Lanzhou Jiaotong University. She was reported to police for clarifying the truth to the students and was arrested on August 23, 2020. She is currently detained in the No.1 Detention Center of Lanzhou City.
Mr. Han Xu and Ms. Li Ya had a court hearing in the Chengguan District Court on October 15, 2020.
The family members of Ms. Chang Xiuli received harassing calls from Ma Mingwei in the Comprehensive Management Office of Beidaihe New District around October 10, 2020. They were asked to come to the office to sign a statement on behalf of Ms. Chang to give up Falun Gong. Her daughter, who is a teacher, was threatened with not being allowed to work. Both her daughter and her husband refused the request.
There was a 15-day brainwashing class held in Xiangshan County Detention Center at the end of October. Three practitioners in Shipu Town, including Ms. Zhao Xiulian (78), Ms. Mu Guihua (who'd just returned home from prison for one year), and Xue Qing (gender unknown), were forcibly taken from their homes to the detention center.
Around 6 a.m. on October 21, 2020, Yi Hongbin, director of Shipu Political and Legal Committee, and Yu Hongbin, director of Dingshan Police Station, led some people including a locksmith to Ms. Zhao’s home. When Ms. Zhao refused to open the door, the locksmith was ordered to pry the door open. They dragged Ms. Zhao from the upstairs and took her away.
On the same day, Ms. Mu was also forcibly taken away from her home. Since she lives alone, her family didn’t know it until they received a call in the afternoon to inform them that Ms. Mu was in Xiangshan Detention Center.
Li Chaoqun (gender unknown) was taken to a local police station on October 25, 2020.
Mr. Wu Jianzhong, the husband of Ms. Zhou Yijun, was harassed on October 13, 2020, by Yan Bing, director of Zhuodaoquan Street Office in the Hongshan District, and Hou Boyun, principal of Tibet Middle School. They put pressure on Mr. Wu to advise his wife to give up Falun Gong.
Ms. Zhou was harassed by Xu Ke from the Zhuodaoquan Street Office on October 26, 2020. She was ordered to send a video clip before 3 p.m., October 27, stating that she was giving up Falun Gong.
Ms. Cheng Sigui, 80, appeared in Lu County Court on October 22, 2020. Ms. Cheng was first arrested on July 19, 2020, and released on bail. She was arrested again in early September and released after being rejected admission for a physical condition.
