(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 27 cities or counties in 12 provinces, where at least 86 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
From the “door-knocking campaign” in 2019 to the current “zero-out campaign” (a concerted drive to force practitioners on the CCP’s blacklists to renounce Falun Gong), personnel from the Political and Legal system in Yunfu City have been harassing local practitioners at home.
Under the direct command of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee (PLAC), a Concerted Action Task Force was formed, which primarily consists of members from the public security, procuratorate, and court system, plus people from various departments, work units, communities, neighborhood offices, and village committees. They come to local practitioners’ homes and pressure them to give up Falun Gong. The campaign has been named the “zero-out campaign.”
Based on reports, practitioners who have been harassed include:
Ms. Xian Jiemei was harassed at home at least three times. She was threatened that her son would not be allowed to take the civil service examination, and would not be granted a pass to go to Hong Kong or Macau.
Ms. Huang Dongmei was harassed at home several times. She was also taken to the police station for persecution.
Ms. Zhou Changfeng was harassed at home at least three times. Her non-practitioner husband was also taken to the police station for persecution. At the same time, she was threatened that the Task Force would send people to her son’s unit to suspend his job.
Ms. Zhang Houhua was harassed at home for an extended period of time.
Ms. Luo Jidi was harassed at home at least three times. She was threatened that the Task Force would send people to her daughter’s work unit to suspend her job.
Ms. Lan Mingjuan was harassed at home at least three times. Her husband, who was ill, was pressured to sign paperwork. They threatened to locate and implicate her son who works out of town.
Ms. Li Meihua was harassed at home several times. They threatened that they would go to her son and daughter-in-law’s work unit to suspend their jobs.
Ms. Li Saiying was harassed at home several times.
Ms. Lai Wenjia was harassed at home at least three times. At the same time, they went several times to the place where Ms. Lai had business operations. They disrupted her business, made her family members and partners nervous, and her customers were worried.
Ms. Lai Zhenxian was often harassed at work. They pressured her to give up her practice. At the same time they went to her daughter’s workplace for harassment. Under PLAC instructions, Ms. Lai’s work unit has not done a year-end evaluation for her for a long time, which prevented her from getting pay raise when others’ salaries were increased. Her wages and benefits have long been reduced, and she has been given only half the normal pay.
Mr. Chen Huorong was recorded by a video surveillance camera when he was distributing Falun Gong materials. His home was ransacked, and a computer, a printer, U discs, printed materials, and other items were confiscated. He was held in a detention center, and was released as he developed abnormal illness symptoms.
Twenty-two practitioners were arrested on July 15, 2020. Thirteen of them are still being held in custody. Most were officially arrested by the Nong’an County Procuratorate.
Ms. Sun Xiuying, Ms. Ren Yongping, Ms. Gao Xiaoqi, and Ms. Cai Yuying, are being held in the Nong’an County Detention Center.
Ms. Zhao Xiulan and Ms. Yu Jiaoru are being held in the Changchun City No. 4 Detention Center.
Mr. Shan Changhe, Mr. Feng Chi, and Mr. Zhang Dianyuan are being held in the Dehui Detention Center.
Ms. Sun Fengxian is being held in the Changchun City Central Hospital.
It is not known where Ms. Zhang Shuyun, Ms. Zhang Xiuzhi, and Ms. Wu Dongmei are being held.
Mr. Lu Xiangfu, Ms. Li Shumei, Mr. Li Wei, Ms. Zhang Guirong, Ms. Guo Peiying, Mr. Zhang Yi, Ms. Zhou Xiujuan, and Mr. Yu Chunlin were released.
Mr. Jiang Quande passed away due to persecution.
Mr. Nie Guangfeng in Minhang District was arrested for calling people to tell them about Falun Gong. He was given a two-year prison term by the Fengxian District on September 9, 2020.
Mr. Liu Fu in Pinggu District will be tried again by the Pinggu District Court on September 15, 2020. He was tried by the court via video-link in July 2020.
The prison term under consideration by the Pinggu District Procuratorate was one to two years. The Procuratorate has now said that sentence was too light, and should be increased to three to four years. They asked for another trial.
Xu Tao (a director of women in Handian Town), a village Party secretary, Wang Dabo (a police officer), and the director of the police station went to Ms. Ren Guixia’s home and harassed her on September 8, 2020. They forced her to sign the three statements.
Ms. Gu Ping and Ms. Zhuang Limin from Linquan County were arrested by officers from the Linquan County Domestic Security Division and the local police station on July 22, 2020. Their homes were ransacked. Both practitioners were held in the Fuyang City Detention Center for 15 days of detention. They returned home on August 6.
Ms. Yu Xiumin was arrested at home by officers from the Jieshou City Domestic Security Division and the local police station on the afternoon of July 22, 2020. The officers confiscated two Falun Dafa books.
Ms. Yu was held in the Fuyang City Detention Center for 15 days. She returned home on August 6.
Ms. Liu Xiumin was arrested at home by officers from the Qian’an Police Department around 6 a.m. on September 8, 2020.
Ms. Zhang Xuemei received a judgment from the Yunhe District Court in early January 2020. She was sentenced to three years and six months in prison.
She appealed, but the original verdict was upheld by the Cangzhou Intermediate Court. She was recently taken to the Shijiazhuang Women's Prison.
Mr. Liu Jianlin, in his 40s, and his non-practitioner wife from Yuping Town, Pingjiang County, Hubei Province, work in Ruian City, Zhejiang Province.
He was seen on surveillance cameras distributing Falun Gong materials. He was arrested at home by local State Security officers. His wife was also arrested. She was brought home by family after she was detained for 10 days. Mr. Liu has been held in the Ruian City Detention Center.
Ms. Yan Yixue, 90, from the No. 143 Regiment, Shihezi Agricultural Eighth Division, was held in custody for over two months. She returned home around August 1, 2020. She is now emaciated and often has back pain.
Mr. Chi Zhenjie was harassed twice by Zhaojiaquan Town Government staff members in August 2020. Now these people have begun harassing his family. They called Mr. Chi’s daughter on September 11, and told her to persuade her parents to give up Falun Gong. She refused.
Yao Chunhui and two other officers from the Daling Town Police Station went to Ms. He Guihua’s home and harassed her on the afternoon of September 9, 2020. They forced her to sign transformation statements, which she refused.

Ms. Zhao Yonghui, Ms. Liao Guoqiong, and Ms. Ai Kexiu of Sanwang Village were harassed by officers from the Mengyang Town 610 Office and village officials around 10 a.m. on September 7, 2020.
Ms. Chen Facui, an employee at the Yiling Hospital, Yiling District, was arrested and her home ransacked by officers from the Yiling District Domestic Security Division on August 25, 2020. She was placed in criminal detention on September 8, after being detained for 15 days.
Mr. Zhang Jun was arrested by officers from the Xicheng Police Station on November 30, 2019. He has been held in the Huafeng Detention Center.
He was given a two-year-and-six-month prison term and fined 5,000 yuan by the Shunqing District Court on September 7, 2020. He did not accept the sentence given by Xu Wenying, director of the Criminal Tribunal, and asked for an appeal.
Ms. Lin Zuoying, 81, was arrested by officers from the Public Transport Police Department when taking a bus in July 2020. She was held in the Guangzhou City No. 1 Detention Center. She was released on bail on January 23, 2020.
She was sentenced to a one-year prison term with a two-year probation and fined 2,000 yuan by the Haizhu District Court on July 13.
Ms. Li Fenyu, 63, was reported to the police when she talked to people about Falun Gong on September 10, 2020. She was arrested by officers from the Fota Police Station. She has been held in the Erqibeilu Detention Center for five days.
Ms. You Li from Qingshan District was held in a detention center, and her term was to end soon. The Qiangshan District 610 Office threatened to send her to the brainwashing center to continue the persecution.
Li Keyun, Party secretary of Liuhengtuo Village, Angezhuang Town, Luannan County, went to Mr. Li Kezhao’s home on the afternoon of September 2, 2020. He demanded that Mr. Li and his wife Ms. Guo Hongxia sign guarantee statements renouncing Falun Gong. The couple refused.
The Party secretary came to the couple’s home again on September 9, and photographed them.
A young practitioner Ms. Gao in Changping District was reported to the police on August 31, 2020. She was arrested and detained. She returned home on September 7. She is still being harassed.
The director of the Handian Police Station, Handian Town Government staff members, Wang Dagang, head of Hongcheng Village, and Liu Xiaoping harassed Mr. Dong Guozhong, Mr. Jiang Minghua, Ms. Wang Qingzhi, and Ms. Liu Yuxian on September 7, 2020. They demanded the practitioners sign guarantee statements renouncing Falun Gong.
Ms. Liu Jinrong’s husband Mr. Jiao Zhensheng passed away due to persecution. The Baiquan County Human Resources and Social Security Bureau stopped, in August 2020, issuing survivors’ subsidies (which she relied on for living expenses), depriving her of her income.
Several officers led by Mu, head of the Qian’an City Domestic Security Division went to knock the door of Ms. Guo Yuexia’s home at around 6 a.m. on September 8, 2020. Ms. Guo refused to open it. They then used a master key, but failed as she had secured the lock from the inside. They used a hacksaw blade to cut the lock. The whole process lasted nearly two hours. Ms. Guo managed to escape.
The officers instead took her son as a hostage, and threatened to take her into custody and sentence her. Her entire family panicked.
Ms. Guo is now displaced.
Two officers from the Sanyou Police Station, Nanpu Development Zone, Caofeidian District, recently went to Mr. Xiao Guoqi’s shop and harassed him.
They told Mr. Xiao and his wife to go to the police station to sign guarantee statements. The couple refused.
Ms. Mu Hua was reported to the police for posting Falun Gong materials in the Jilin Provincial Library. She was arrested by officers from the Xinfu Township Police Station on May 13, 2020.
After 15 days of detention, she was handed over to the Nanhu Police Station because of the CCP Virus pandemic. She was released on bail at the police station.
The Xinfu Township Police Station kept phoning her in September, insisting that she go to the police station. She did not go. Ms. Mu was arrested by the police on September 9, and has been taken to the No. 4 Detention Center.
The local neighborhood committees or village committees cooperated with the police stations in the Kongtong District. They went to several practitioners’ homes and harassed them starting in July 2020.
These people asked practitioners whether they were still practiced Falun Gong. If a practitioner refused to answer or denounce Falun Gong, they would threaten him or her that the district or city PLAC personnel could deal with the practitioner.
Those known to have been harassed include, Ms. Ma Meifang (in her 70s), Ms. Hui Aixia (in her 70s), Ms. Chen Caixia (nearly 70), Ms. Wang Fengling (70 years old), Ms. Zhang Furong (in her 60s), Mr. Cao Xi (in his 70s), Ms. Wu Caihui (in her 60s), Ms. Ren Liqin (in her 60s), Ms. Pan Huiqin (in her 60s), Ms. Qi Zhe (in her 50s), Ms. Qi Dongmei (in her 40s), Mr. Liu Yaokui (in his 60s), Mr. Wang Fulong (in his 70s), Mr. Yang Zonglin (in his 60s), and Ms. Xue Hongxia (in her 40s).
Mr. Wang Fuguo was arrested when he was working in the field by plainclothes officers from the Yanbian County Police Department, Panzhihua City, on the morning of September 9, 2020.
Mr. Wang was taken to Yanbian County and spent one night in a hotel. When his son came there the next day the officers told his son to sign paperwork. The officers said that Mr. Wang’s case was turned over to the Procuratorate, and he would be released on bail. Mr. Wang was released on the afternoon of September 10.
Ms. Li Yuelan from Hefei City, Anhui Province, was arrested by officers from the Fuyou Street Police Station, Beijing, during her tour in Beijing on August 17, 2020. She was placed in criminal detention, and held in the Dongcheng District Detention Center in Beijing.
When Ms. Li Anxiu went to the bank to withdraw her pension on August 30, 2020, she found that her pension for August had not been deposited into her account.
She phoned the Nanchong Social Security Bureau about this issue. A clerk told her that they had to deduct her pension for the period when she was held in the detention center. She has also been twice sentenced to prison, totaling six years. During those six years, she received no pension.
The Hezhuang Township Police Station sent someone, on August 8, 2020, to the village to inquire about Ms. Jiang Changyu’s personal telephone number and national ID number.
The police phoned Ms. Jiang’s child on the afternoon of August 21, and told the child that they would come to Ms. Jiang’s home and have her sign the three statements.
Ms. Yang Li was repeatedly harassed at home by officers from the Yangchang Town Police Station and the town government personnel, in Dafang County, on April 17, June 30, July 4, and July 13, 2020.
They forced Ms. Yang to sign paperwork. They resorted to financial temptation, as well as threats such as “driving her out of her rental home.” During the fourth visit, they even punched, kicked, and handcuffed her.
Ms. Kang Ping, 70, is a retired worker of the Shaanxi Construction Group. Her husband received a phone call from residential community personnel on September 3, 2020, and Ms. Kang was told to write a guarantee statement. Her husband received a harassment phone call again on September 7. Ms. Kang’s son received a phone call from the residential community personnel on September 8, and he was told that they would come to his home.
