(Minghui.org) I was a rebellious child and caused countless headaches for my parents, whose lives were already difficult and stressful. From time to time, my grandpa and grandma would say to me, “Child, be considerate of your parents. You can’t be so selfish!”
My mind only became clear and my righteous thoughts only increased after I started to practice Falun Dafa. As I gradually emerged from my self-centered box, I came to a realization that I had actually cultivated poorly. I must have caused Master Li many worries and headaches.
People often say that a child is a part of his parents. Thus, a Dafa practitioner is a part of Master. Looking within, I asked myself, “Do I consider myself a practitioner? Am I diligent about my cultivation?”
I had to admit that, no, I had been selfish and held tightly to human attachments. I had not been considerate of Master.
Master has mighty power, and the Fa harmonizes everything and is wise and boundless. But sometimes Master can’t do everything for us.
Master said,
“Usually, a great enlightened person does not casually interfere with the principles of everyday people. The higher a great enlightened person’s level is, the less he or she would bother to interfere with the principles of everyday people, not even a bit.” ( Lecture Five, Zhuan Falun)
Each bit of improvement on our path of cultivation relates to a principle. This is the Dao that we must enlighten to, and it is the Fa that we should conform to. A practitioner must enlighten to the Dao and act according to the Dao to be called a genuine practitioner. When you enlighten to the Fa at a higher level and follow it in your life, interference decreases. If you hold tightly to human notions, tribulations or persecution can become more severe.
In the latter case, we might ask Master for help. But Master’s heart is already pained, and Master is bearing most of the pain for us. We are only bearing a small portion of the suffering on this human level. In the end, this is a tribulation imposed on us by the old forces that we need not endure if we are righteous.
Master wrote,
“I close my eyes and doze offto sever all troubles hereUpon waking, endless things come alongNeither heaven nor earth canblock my road of Fa-rectificationBut disciple’s human hearts can”(“Troubles,” Hong Yin III)
In cultivation practice, all of the troubles and tribulations that we encounter come from our attachments. If we are in a tribulation, we should look within to find the cause and quickly rectify any incorrect state. At the very least, we should courageously face challenges like true warriors.
Passive endurance only adds to Master’s burden. We need to be considerate of Master during this final time. We need to jump out of the box of self-centeredness and become clearheaded.
