(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 20 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 30 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Yu Yinghua from Lushunkou District was arrested at home on July 10, 2019. Her home was ransacked, and she was taken to Yaojia Detention Center. Ms. Yu was recently tried by the Lushunkou District Court, sentenced to three and a half years in prison, and fined 10,000 yuan.
Mr. Liu Fufa from the Pinggu District was arrested on September 26, 2019, for distributing Falun Gong materials in Daxingzhuang Town, Pinggu District. His case was turned over to the Pinggu District Procuratorate on December 2, 2019, and brought to the Pinggu District Court in early January 2020. Mr. Liu was tried in July 2020.
Mr. Liu was then tried a second time on September 15, 2020. Two additional years were added to the original sentence of one to two years in prison. It was learned on September 23 that he was sentenced to three years in prison and fined 30,000 yuan.
Mr. Liu is detained at Pinggu Detention Center and will appeal the sentencing.
Ms. Qu Yuanzhi from Wujiazhuang Village and Ms. Sheng Shuli from Zhugou Village, both of whom are from Jiudian Town, were arrested on January 22, 2019.
Ms. Sheng was sentenced to three and a half years in prison, and Ms. Qu to one year and eight months.
Ms. Sheng was taken to Jinan Women’s Prison on September 16. Ms. Qu ended the one year and eight months in detention on September 22, 2020, and has returned home.
Mr. Guo Jinzhao was arrested by officers from Xindu District Domestic Security Division on September 28, 2020. He was refused admittance to Xingtai City No. 1 Detention Center for health reasons, and was then taken to the Shahe City Detention Center. He was later released on bail.
Mr. Yuan Xinxiang, Mr. Yuan Xianfu, and Mr. Fang Weihong were arrested by officers from Xinhua County Domestic Security Division in August 2020. Mr. Fang was released the following day. The other two practitioners were taken to Loudi City. Mr. Yuan Xianfu was released the following day. It is unknown where Mr. Yuan Xinxiang is being detained.
Mr. Liu Quanchun and his wife, Ms. Shi Qingxiu, were scheduled for trial by the Zhanqian District Court on the morning of September 28, 2020.
Ms. Liang Qiuchang was again arrested in July 2020.
Personnel from Tangli Town, Bazhou City, broke into Ms. Wang Shuxia’s home on September 27, 2020. She was pressured to sign paperwork, but refused, and her husband signed instead.
Mr. Yu Hongfu and his wife, Ms. Chu Yuzhen, were sentenced heavily by the Chuanying District Court. The court gave notice in December 2019 that Mr. Yu had been sentenced to eight and a half years in prison and Ms. Chu to nine and a half years in prison. She was released on medical parole, and returned home.
Ms. Chu was arrested again at her rented home around September 24, 2020. Her home was ransacked, and a computer and a printer were confiscated.
Mr. Xu Zhongyou’s wife, Ms. Niu Yuanling, of Fate Town was arrested and taken to Shulan City Brainwashing Center on September 11, 2020.
Ms. Song Jinling was arrested by officers from Qizheng Street Police Station on September 22, 2020. The officers confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong and other belongings from her bag. Subsequently, over ten people were involved in arresting her husband. They went to her son’s home on the seventh floor and confiscated over 60,000 yuan in cash, four printers, and pendants. Ms. Song is detained at a building behind the Harbin City Police Department.
Ms. Zheng Shuyan was arrested by officers from the police station on September 22. The officers confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, a laptop, and U discs. She is being detained at the same building.
Personnel from the Huimin Police Station, Nanpeng Sub-district Administration Office, and Huimin Residential Community went to Ms. Zhao Li’s shop and harassed her three times, in early, mid, and late September 2020. They asked her to write the three statements renouncing Falun Gong, which Ms. Zhao refused.
Ms. Liu Chunying’s case was transferred to the Lianshan District Procuratorate by the Nanpiao District Procuratorate.
Two people from the Gaoxin Residential Community, Dongfeng District, went to Ms. Yu Guolan’s home on September 11, 2020. They asked her if she was still practicing Falun Gong.
Ms. Bian Xuemei of Kaiyuan Town was arrested at home on September 23, 2020. The police ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Dafa books, printed materials, and over 4,000 yuan in cash. Ms. Bian was taken to Hengyang City No. 1 Detention Center.
Ms. Zhang Yasi was arrested by the Hangzhou Railway police on the train to Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, in mid-August 2020. She is being detained in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province.
A practitioner surnamed Tao from the Wanxin area, Dongzhou District, was arrested on the morning of September 25, 2020. Tao’s home was ransacked. Another practitioner surnamed Wei was arrested outside his or her home that afternoon.
Ms. Ma Yuzhi and Ms. Zhang Wenling were reported to police when talking to people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of March 17, 2020. Both were sentenced to residential surveillance for six months.
Both practitioners were harassed by local police on August 12. They were pressured to sign the three statements to renounce Falun Gong. The police told them that their cases had been turned over to the Dongchengfu District Procuratorate to go through the legal process. The police continued to harass the two practitioners to sign the statements.
Sun Baohua and other officers from Cuiping Police Station broke into Ms. Qiao Ruirong’s home and harassed her on the morning of September 26, 2020. They asked her to sign paperwork agreeing to give up Falun Gong. She refused.
Officers from the Cuiping Police Station went to Mr. Lin Zhenqing’s home to harass him on September 27, 2020, but Mr. Lin was not at home. They confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, about ten desktop calendars, and Falun Dafa books from Mr. Lin's home.
Liu Wuzhou, a residential police officer from Sandeli Residential Community in Jiang’an District, called Ms. Li Fang’s younger sister on September 23, 2020, and asked her to tell Ms. Li to go to the community office to sign paperwork. Liu threatened that if she did not sign, he would come to her home to have her sign it.
Liu also called Ms. Li’s husband and asked him to go to the community office the next day. He did not go.
Liu and Ben, director of the community, went to Ms. Li’s home and harassed her on the morning of September 26, 2020. They also took photos of her.
Six or seven people from Xilaotai Police Station, High-tech Industrial Development Zone, went to Ms. Yang Shuyun’s home on September 23, 2020. They forced her to open the door to be searched. She did not cooperate, saying it was illegal and it would interfere with the normal life of the residents.
During the standoff, two 610 Office members in plainclothes arrived and two people from a locksmith company were brought in. After opening the door, they ransacked her home and confiscated some cards with a QR code for Internet access.
Ms. Yang was arrested and taken to the police station.
A man in plainclothes took the book Zhuan Falun from her pocket. She went forward to grab the book, and the two pushed and shoved. She felt tightness in her chest and physical discomfort. The police asked her to sign a notice of “detention for ten days, and fine of 1,000 yuan,” but she refused.
She developed symptoms of heart disease, and the police asked her family to take her home for treatment. The police also said that after she recovered, she would have to go to the police station again. Ms. Yang has left home to avoid further persecution.
