1. [ Province] Ms. Chen Yuerong Given Heavy Sentence of Eight Years

Ms. Chen Yuerong, 61, from Ganjingzi District was given a heavy sentence of eight years in prison. Officers from the Zhongshan Police Station crossed district boundaries to arrest her and ransack her home on November 12, 2018.

2. [Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province] Cases of Ms. Wang Yali and Two Other Practitioners Turned Over to Procuratorate

Ms. Wang Yali and Ms. Liu Qiaomei were arrested and taken to Taerpo Detention Center, Weicheng District, by officers from the Weicheng District Domestic Security Division on September 8, 2019.

Mr. Ding Qiang was arrested and taken to Taerpo Detention Center on September 8, 2019. The police ransacked his home and confiscated a printer, printed materials and books that had information about Falun Gong.

Mr. Ma Jie was arrested again and taken to Taerpo Detention Center on September 20, 2019. He was released on October 17, and is now being monitored.

Ms. Wang's, Ms. Liu's, and Mr. Ding's cases were filed to Weicheng District Procuratorate on January 4, 2020.

3. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Elderly Ms. Xia Xianrong Arrested

Elderly Ms. Xia Xianrong was arrested by officers from Yunhe Police Station when she talked to people about Falun Gong on December 28, 2019. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

4. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Fan Ying and Ms. Zhong Fangqiong Brutally Abused in Prison

Ms. Fan Ying from Shuangliu County was secretly sentenced to five years in prison, and was again taken to Longquan Women’s Prison in April 2019. She has been severely abused in prison and deprived of nine basic rights. She was beaten and tortured on numerous occasions. She recently passed out while being taken back to her prison cell.

Ms. Zhong Fangqiong from Chengdu City, is being held in the same prison as Ms. Fan. She has also been severely abused.

5. [Liuyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Liu Lixia Faces Trial

Ms. Liu Lixia was monitored and followed when she distributed information about Falun Gong on the evening of September 17, 2019. Officers from Huaichuan Police Station pried open her door, arrested her, and ransacked her home on September 23. She has been held in Liuyang City Detention Center for over three months.

The detention center recently said that Ms. Liu would be tried on January 20, 2020. She is facing a three to seven year prison sentence.

6. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Gao Mingxia’s Original Verdict Upheld

Ms. Gao Mingxia was arrested at home in May 2018, and given a nine-year prison term by Shibei District Court on July 24, 2019. She appealed to Qingdao City Intermediate Court. Her family received the court decision in mid-October 2019, which upheld the original verdict.

7. [Qiannan Prefecture, Guizhou Province] Ms. Meng Xiangzhen and Ms. Luo Huangji Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Meng Xiangzhen and Ms. Luo Huangji were arrested on December 27, 2018 for distributing Falun Gong informational desktop calendars. They were tried twice, in early August and in mid-September 2019 respectively, by Duyun City Court. It was recently learned that Ms. Meng was given a one-year-and-six-month prison term and Ms. Luo a two-year prison term.

8. [Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] 75-Year-Old Ms. Jiang Hongying Tried

It was recently learned that Xixia District Court tried 75-year-old Ms. Jiang Hongying on December 2, 2019 without notifying her family. No verdict was announced in court. Ms. Jiang is still being held in Yinchuan City Detention Center.

9. [Jinchang City, Gansu Province] Ms. Li Guiying and Ms. Zhu Lanxiu Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Li Guiying and Ms. Zhu Lanxiu were each sentenced to six months in prison on December 26, 2019.

10. [Linxia County, Gansu Province] Mr. Jia Chunzheng’s Home Ransacked

Mr. Jia Chunzheng, from the No. 6 Group, Liangjiashan Village, Xinji Town, is in his 70s. The police smashed his door lock and ransacked his home on December 25, 2019. They confiscated Falun Dafa books, printed materials, Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, The Ultimate Goal of Communism, and DVDs.
