Shandong Woman Serving Nine Years for Her Faith Denied Visitation

January 12, 2020 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Shandong Province, China

(Minghui.org) A Linyi City, Shandong Province resident serving a nine-year term for her faith in Falun Gong is being denied visitation. Her family is very worried about her.

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Ms. Hu Jinhui, about 54, began to practice Falun Gong in 2008. She had suffered from complications from childbirth for years, but her symptoms all disappeared after she learned Falun Gong.

Grateful for the changes brought about by practicing Falun Gong, Ms. Hu often shared her story with her friends and family members, hoping that more people could benefit from the practice.

Because of that, she was put on the police’s blacklist and often harassed by them.

Ms. Hu was seized at home in a group arrest of Falun Gong practitioners on September 29, 2018. Her sister, Ms. Hu Jinping, also a Falun Gong practitioner, happened to be visiting her and was arrested too.

Lanshan District Court sentenced Ms. Hu Jinhui to nine years and Ms. Hu Jinping to one and a half years around June 2019.

Ms. Hu Jinping appealed the verdict, but the Linyi City Intermediate Court turned her down.

The Hu sisters were sent to Shandong Province Women’s Prison around August 2019.
