(Minghui.org) The ancients believed that what each person experiences in their lifetime, good or bad, is preordained. Master said,
“Within a special dimension that does not have the concept of time, when a person is born, his or her entire lifetime already exists there simultaneously. For some people, even more than one lifetime exists there. ”( Lecture Two, Zhuan Falun)
Master also said,
“Some people may wonder, “So our personal struggles and efforts to change ourselves are unnecessary?” They cannot accept it. In fact, individual efforts can change minor things in one’s life. Some minor things can be altered slightly through individual efforts,...” ( Lecture Two, Zhuan Falun)
As cultivators, should we complain about having a “hard life”? I feel that if we didn't undergo hardships that helped us repay a lot of our karma, we may not have been able to obtain the Fa in this lifetime. Master talked about this,
“Many people lost their lives in the past so that they may gain the Fa. They have cultivated in the past and undergone many cultivation ordeals.” (Teaching the Fa at the Conference in Canada)
What we experienced in our present lives also prepared us to obtain the Fa. Some practitioners continue enduring hardships. Some have abusive spouses or unreasonable and demanding in-laws. Others say their siblings take advantage of them or their children or parents passed away too soon.
A human who has obtained the Fa is the luckiest being. This is such a solemn and sacred matter so how can one still complain about having a hard life? Is it because we're still attached to sentimentality? Or is it because we still haven't gotten rid of old grudges and hatred? Should a cultivator hold grudges?
Of course, many practitioners say that they had unreasonable parents-in-law or people gave them a hard time, yet they treated them with kindness. They are able to set aside their grudges.
This is just my understanding. Kindly correct me if there are any areas where I need to improve.
