Songyuan City, Jilin Province: 13 Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested in One Day

(Minghui.org) Thirteen Falun Gong practitioners in Songyuan City, Jilin Province, were arrested on September 10, 2019. Most of them had their homes ransacked and their computers and Falun Gong books confiscated. One of the practitioners' family members, who does not practice Falun Gong, was also seized.

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Ms. Li Liyan, Ms. Yang Liyan, Mr. Li Dongjun (no relation to Ms. Li) are currently held at Shanyou Detention Center.

Mr. Chen Hailin (Ms. Yang's husband, who doesn't practice Falun Gong) and Ms. Huang Xiuhua (Mr. Li's wife) are detained at Songyuan City Detention Center.

Mr. Li and Ms. Huang's daughter-in-law, Ms. Yu Wei, are held at Qianguo County Detention Center and given 15 days of detention.

The other eight arrested practitioners are: Ms. Zhang Yaru, Ms. Liu Ying and her sister, Fang, Fu, Fu's child, Jing, as well as an elderly practitioner whose name is unknown.

It was reported that the police climbed into Jing's window through a ladder to arrest her.

More details about the arrests are being investigated.
