(Minghui.org) A Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province resident was sentenced to three years and three months in prison for her faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Ms. Fu Xiufang, 51, was arrested on October 25, 2018 and indicted by the Nanshan District Procuratorate on February 14, 2019 for disseminating information about the persecution of Falun Gong using wifi hotspots.

She appeared in the Nanshan District Court on April 18, 2019 and was recently convicted.

Ms. Fu is still held at the Nanshan District Detention Center at the time of writing and it’s not clear when she is to be sent to prison.

Background

Ms. Fu began practicing Falun Gong in 2009. Many of her chronic conditions, including back pain and oral ulcer, soon disappeared.

In addition to the health benefit, the teachings of Falun Gong and its core principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance also helped Ms. Fu to forgive her husband, who had had an affair with another woman.

One of her children once said, “Our family would have fallen apart a long time ago if mom didn’t practice Falun Gong. She became a completely different person, who is much happier and no longer complains. She even asked me and my younger brother not to bear resentment towards our father because of what he did to the family before. This isn’t something that everyone can do easily.”
