(Minghui.org) I am a 66-year-old retired nurse. Before I practiced Falun Dafa I was of poor health. I suffered from lumbar vertebrae hyperplasia and shoulder inflammation. I often had low back pain, shoulder pain, and stomach pain that caused severe vomiting. The worst of my pain was from headaches, accompanied by dizziness. It was almost unbearable. I took a lot of painkillers.
A friend gave me the book Zhuan Falun, in 1997. It explains why people get sick, why you should be good, how to be good, and much more. I felt this is what I had been looking for, and so I began to practice Falun Dafa.
Just a week later, I noticed that I did not need to wear my glasses. I had been nearsighted for many years. Now, I no longer had to wear glasses when I gave injections at the hospital. I continued to practice, and I recovered from my illnesses. Finally, I was pain-free. I put more effort into my cultivation, strived to be a good person in every environment and to always think of others first.
One day I was strolling in the park, near a river, when I noticed someone finding a wallet. They offered to give me some of the money, but I did not accept it. Shortly after, someone came by looking toward the ground. They said that they were searching for a wallet they had lost. I pointed out the person who found it and they were able to get their wallet back.
In the hospital, I worked conscientiously. When doctor's struggled to find a patient's vein, the department head would ask me to do it and I was always successful.
I was kind to my patients. I was not afraid of hard-work or filth. I took care of things others did not want to do. My patients were grateful and treated me with respect. They knew I was teaching them all how to be a good person by example and so they often called me “teacher.”
In order to get better care, some patients’ families often take doctors and nurses out to eat and give them gifts. After practicing Falun Dafa, I never accepted any gifts again nor did I go with them to eat. Some colleagues asked me to take over their work when they went out with the patient’s family to eat.
Our hospital is large with many beds. The doctors are often overworked. When I worked the night shift I tried to handle as much as I could without waking the doctors, so they could sleep. One doctor was biased against me because I practiced Falun Dafa. Over time she witnessed my behavior and how I was considerate to everyone – even her. She too began to refer to me as “teacher.” All my colleagues were impressed with me and said: “Falun Dafa practitioners are good people.”
Later, the hospital conducted a patient satisfaction survey regarding nurses. My satisfaction rate was the highest. At the end of the year’s hospital dinner, the head nurse of the hospital gave me a thumbs up and said to the CEO: “She is the best nurse in our hospital!”
After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began the persecution of Falun Dafa in 1999, I was arrested multiple times for telling people the truth about Falun Dafa. One time police officers slapped my face hard many times and I lost all my molars. Regardless of how I was persecuted, it will not stop me from telling others about the goodness of Dafa. Everyone needs to know Falun Dafa is good!
