(Minghui.org) Police in Jilin City, Jilin Province, arrested Ms. Wang Shufan and ransacked her home on September 28, 2018. She has been held in the Jilin City Detention Center for over seven months. It was recently reported that Ms. Wang was sentenced to four years in prison and would be transferred to Jilin Province Women's Prison after the May 1 holiday season.
Ms. Wang was talking to people and distributing information about the communist regime’s persecution of Falun Dafa on Xinghua Street around 2:00 p.m. on September 28, 2018, when she was arrested. The police ransacked her home and confiscated a printer, a computer, and other personal items. She was then taken to the Jilin City Lock-Up Center.
After being held in the lockup center for 13 days, Ms. Wang was transferred to the Jilin City Detention Center. She was officially placed under arrest one month later by the Changyi District Police Department. Her case was turned over to the Changyi District Procuratorate in November 2018.
Ms. Wang was reported for talking to people about Falun Dafa on April 5, 2004, and arrested by officers from the Chuanying Police Department. She was held in the Jilin City No. 1 Detention Center, where she was tortured in various ways. She went on a hunger strike to protest the abuse and was force-fed.
She was arrested for the second time at work by four officers from the Yushugou Police Station on August 9, 2017, for filing a criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party, for initiating the persecution of Falun Dafa.
The officers took her to her home, but her family members did not open the door. They had wanted to ransack her home without a valid search warrant. The officers then returned to her workplace to get her keys and found three Falun Dafa informational booklets [to use as evidence], so they took Ms. Wang to the police station.
She was taken to the Jilin City Detention Center and held for 10 days. After she returned to work, officials at her workplace forced her to retire early.
