Treat People With Compassion at All Times

April 04, 2019 |   By a Falun Dafa practitioner in Heilongjiang Province, China

(Minghui.org) Master Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa, stated in Zhuan Falun,

"You should always maintain a heart of compassion and kindness. Then, when you run into a problem, you will be able to do well because it gives you room to buffer the confrontation." (Lecture Four, Zhuan Falun)

When I studied this sentence, I realized that we should save people with our greatest compassion.

I usually talk to people that I pass on the street about Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong). One day a woman walked toward me with tears rolling down her face. Maybe the tears were due to the cold weather or perhaps her knowing side understood something. I smiled, walked up to greet her, and wiped away her tears. She may have felt that I treated her as my own family because she naturally agreed to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) after I told her the facts about the persecution. I have encountered a few cases like this.

Another time, a woman walked over to me against the cold wind. Her coat was unbuttoned, so I helped button her up first and said, “Auntie, it's really cold, keep warm.” She also seemed to feel very close to me, and we chatted like old friends. This way it was easy for her to listen to and understand the truth about Dafa.

One day I met an elderly lady who looked very kind and smiled when I greeted her. She wasn't wearing a hat, so I asked her if she felt cold, as it was 20 degrees below zero Celsius. She said she was okay. Then I took off my gloves to warm her ears. She said, “You must have been such a nice child!”

I told her that I cultivate in Falun Dafa, and our Master teaches us to be kind to people. She was also open to learning about the unlawful nature of the persecution of the practice and exclaimed, “There are really good people among Falun Dafa practitioners!”

One night, as I was on my way to work the night shift, the road was very dark. I saw an elderly couple walking ahead of me. The man was striding in front, while the woman was walking a little slower behind as if she was afraid of slipping. I quickly walked up to her and said, “Auntie, let me help you, as it's so cold.” She was very appreciative. I found out they were a couple and mentioned that since our Chinese people had been influenced by Confucianism in the past, people were often embarrassed to help one another out.

I told the man, “Actually it would have been very nice if you had offered to take your wife's arm.” They both laughed. With such a good beginning, I helped them quit the CCP. They both thanked me.

My fellow practitioners, we have learned from the Fa that we were all once divine beings from the heavens. Let's remember to treat people with compassion at all times!
