(Minghui.org) A Shanghai woman is facing indictment for her faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Jiang Yuying, 58, was arrested on March 7, 2019 and had her home ransacked after being reported for using banknotes printed with information about Falun Gong. Her arrest was approved on March 21.
With strict information censorship in China, many Falun Gong practitioners turned to creative ways, including printing information on banknotes, to raise awareness about the persecution that has lasted for 20 years.
Ms. Jiang, a former marketing manager at Shanghai Second Shoe Company, began to practice Falun Gong in 1999. She credits the practice for curing the severe psoriasis that had bothered her for many years.
She disciplined herself based on Falun Gong's principles, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and often lent a hand to her friends and colleagues when they needed help. She also took care of a neighbor in her 80s and helped her do grocery shopping.
Because of not renouncing her faith, Ms. Jiang was arrested on April 12, 2012 and sentenced to three years with three years' probation. She is now facing indictment for her faith again.
