Jilin Practitioners Ms. Qin Xiuzhi and Ms. Qin Guohua Detained

March 26, 2019 |   By a Minghui correspondent from Jilin Province, China

(Minghui.org) Ms. Qin Xiuzhi and Ms. Qin Guohua from the Hadawan Residential Community in Jilin City were arrested by officers from the Jilin City Domestic Security Division for distributing Falun Gong informational materials at the Mashi Farmers Market in the Fengjiatun area on the morning of February 17, 2019.

A crowd gathered around as domestic security officers called for officers from the Changchunlu Police Station to apprehend the two practitioners. The women were taken to the Jilin City Lockup for 10 days of detention.

The officers ransacked the two practitioners' homes and confiscated over 40 Falun Gong books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, MP3 players, and a copy of the book The Ultimate Goal of Communism.

The police notified the women's families that they could pick them up on February 27. When the families went to the detention center they witnessed the practitioners being taken away in separate police cars. They went to the police station to demand the release of the women. They learned that the police had tried to force the practitioners to sign guarantee statements to not practice Falun Gong, but neither would comply. They were told that the practitioners had been taken to Jilin City Detention Center.

Ms. Qin's Past History of Persecution

Ms. Qin Guohua has been harassed, arrested, and detained numerous times for her steadfast belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and telling people the facts about Falun Gong and the unjust persecution.

Officers from the Hadawan Police Station knocked on Ms. Qin's door on the morning of November 6, 2015. The family did not answer, so the officers waited downstairs the following day in an attempt to arrest her.

The officers and a dozen people from the Xihe Residential Community went to Ms. Qin's home on June 13, 2017. She was not at home, so her husband opened the door. The officers ransacked the residence without showing a warrant. They confiscated all her Falun Gong books and 500 yuan paper bills that had Falun Gong information printed on them.

Ms. Qin happened to come upstairs just as the officers and residential community staff members were heading downstairs. Someone recognized her, so she was arrested and taken to the police station. It was reported that she was photographed and fingerprinted because she had filed a legal case against Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese Communist Party.

Ms. Qin was taken to the detention center and held for five days. Officers went to her husband and asked for money. They threatened him by saying that the paper bills with Falun Gong information on them was enough to sentence his wife to prison. Her husband and their daughter were intimidated, so they borrowed 10,000 yuan and gave it to the Hadawan Police Station officers.
