Paralyzed Woman from the Forced Labor Camp Stood Up

February 23, 2019 |   By a Falun Dafa practitioner from China

(Minghui.org) I started to practice Falun Dafa in 1995. When I went to Beijing to appeal for the right practice it in November 1999, I was arrested and sent back to the local detention center for a week. Then I was sent to a forced labor camp for three years.

We were forced to get up at 4:00 a.m. every day in the camp. Work started at 7:00 a.m. and ended at 8:00 p.m. If we did not finish our daily quota, we were beaten. Although we were brutally tortured, we practitioners never gave up our belief. We clarified the truth to people around us.

There was an inmate named Nie Yufang. She used to be a thief. Due to the long-term forced labor, she became paralyzed and could not walk. Every day four inmates had to carry her to the cafeteria. Sometimes, they would just drop her on the floor. After we got there, the guards forced several of us practitioners to take turns carrying her on our backs.

We clarified the truth about Dafa to Nie Yufang and shared the stories of our friends and families who'd recovered from their ailments after practicing Falun Dafa. She witnessed the kindness of Dafa practitioners from us and started to believe in Dafa. We also lent her Dafa books to read.

One night, while she was half asleep, she saw a man in his 20s raise her legs up and down several times. The next morning, she shared this with us secretly. We told her that the Master of Dafa must be looking after her and said, “How about you try to walk a little today? Instead of carrying you, we will hold you on each side to help you.” She said, “Do you think I can?”

We encouraged her, “Yes, you can!” She then shakily tried to move, step by step. She was able to walk! As time passed, she recovered fully and could take on some work. She could even carry a bag of red beans on her back.
