(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 8provinces, where at least 32 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Changde City, Hunan Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhou Zelan, 66, Ms. Fu Yifang, 66, Ms. Ren Wending, 65, and Ms. Li Changju, 50, all from Jinshi City, were arrested separately on November 20, 2019. Their homes were ransacked.

2. [Datong City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Feng Peixiang and Ms. Zhang Yuezhi Detained

Ms. Feng Peixiang and Ms. Zhang Yuezhi were arrested at Ms. Zhang’s home by officers from the Xinsheng Police Station, Datong Bureau of Mines on the afternoon of November 7, 2019.

The officers jumped over the fence around the yard and broke into Ms. Zhang’s home, then ransacked the place. They confiscated Falun Gong books, cash, and other personal belongings.

Ms. Zhang was taken to Datong Second Detention Center, but was later released. Ms. Feng is still being held in Chenzhuang First Detention Center.

3. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Bai Mei and Ms. Shi Yuhuan were arrested on the morning of November 24, 2019, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

Ms. Zhang Fenghua later went to Ms. Bai’s home, and was also arrested.

The three practitioners were subjected to a 15-day administrative detention, and were held in the Zhangjiakou City Detention Center.

4. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zou Arrested

Ms. Zou from Shijixincheng, Hunnan District, was arrested on the afternoon of November 26, 2019, for handing out Falun Gong calendars.

5. [Xintai City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Xiaohong Detained

Ms. Zhang Xiaohong was arrested by officers from Mingzhou Town, Wei County on October 1, 2019, after someone reported her for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was taken to the police station.

The officers ransacked her home, and confiscated her personal belongings. She was taken to the county detention center for 15 days.

6. [Tianjin] Ms. Wang Jianhua Detained

Ms. Wang Jianhua from Xianshuigu Town was recorded by a surveillance system posting Falun Gong fliers on November 18, 2019. Police ransacked her home, and confiscated her computers and other personal belongings. She is being held in the Xianshuigu Detention Center.

Her husband, a doctor, was spoken to by his supervisor about his wife being a Falun Gong practitioner.

7. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Nine Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Xu San, from the Junxing Residential District, and eight other practitioners were arrested on the morning of November 13, 2019.

Four practitioners over 70 years old were released. Three practitioners were released after ten days of detention.

Ms. Xu San, 54, was held in Weizigou Detention Center for ten days, before being transferred to the Changchun City Fourth Detention Center.

Mr. Du He was sentenced to a two-and-a-half-year prison term.

8. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Shuxiang and Ms. Li Guiqin Arrested

Ms. Li Shuxiang from Guangrao County was arrested by officers from the Guangrao Domestic Security Division at the entrance to her apartment building on the morning of November 22, 2019. The officers took her cell phone and door key, went upstairs and ransacked her home. Her son was awakened by the noise. The officers confiscated Ms. Li's personal belongings. She was taken first to the Domestic Security Division, and then to the Guangrao Police Station. Ms. Li was later transferred to the Dongying City Detention Center.

Ms. Li Guiqin, in her seventies, also from Guangrao, was intercepted by two men working for the community when she was handing out Falun Gong materials. She was arrested by officers from the Guangrao Domestic Security Division, and released later that day.

9. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Tian Fenghua Detained

Ms. Tian Fenghua was arrested at home by officers from the Chengjiao Police Station on October 28, 2019. She was held in a detention center for three days.

10. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhao Lizhong Arrested

Mr. Zhao Lizhong from the Caofeidian District Tenth Farm was falsely accused, and arrested on November 16, 2019. He was released later that day.

11. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xu Li Taken to Prison

Ms. Xu Li was sentenced to a four-year prison term by the Gaoxinyuan District Court in June 2019. Her appeal was rejected by the Dalian City Intermediate Court. She was taken to Liaoning Province Women's Prison on October 22, 2019. 

12. [Huainan City, Anhui Province] Mr. Nie Pengge Sentenced to a Four-Year Prison Term

Mr. Nie Pengge, 51, from Huainan City, was arrested in April 2019 while working in Zhejiang Province. He was taken back to Huainan, and held in the Huainan Detention Center. His family was informed on October 30, 2019.

When they visited him they learned that he had been secretly sentenced to four years in prison, without a court hearing.

Mr. Nie was taken to Suzhou Prison.

13. [Luzhou City, Sichuan Province] Elderly Ms. Gao Xianying Taken to Prison

Ms. Gao Xianying, 76, was sentenced to a seven-year prison term and fined 4,000 yuan by the Hejiang County Court on December 18, 2018. She appealed, but the Luzhou City Intermediate Court upheld the original verdict on July 29, 2019.

Ms. Gao was taken to Longquan Women’s Prison on October 16.

14. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Guo Jinrong Appeals Sentence

Ms. Guo Jinrong was arrested at her daughter's home on August 1, 2019. She was previously arrested in 2009, and the police extorted money from her. She continued to be harassed by the police, and so sold her home and moved out of the area. 

Ms. Guo was sentenced to a three-and-a-half-year prison term on September 21, 2019. She has appealed the verdict, and the intermediate court is investigating her case.

15. [Shanghai] Mr. Deng Chenglian Imprisoned

Mr. Deng Chenglian was sentenced to a four-year prison term and fined 8,000 yuan on April 16, 2019. He is on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. His parents are very concerned about him.

16. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Song Caiping Lives Away from Home to Avoid Imprisonment

Ms. Song Caiping, in her 70s, was arrested on May 20, 2019, while appealing for Falun Gong in Beijing. She was brought back to Dalian to be taken to a detention center. However, she was released on bail after failing the physical exam.

The local Procuratorate later indicted Ms. Song for having a five-yuan banknote with handwritten information about Falun Gong on it. She appeared in the Wafangdian No. 3 Court on November 5, 2019, and was convicted around December 3.

Ms. Song has lived away from home to avoid being taken to prison. Her prison sentence is still being investigated.
