Patience of a Cultivator: Offering the Best Service to Customers

October 26, 2019 |   By a Falun Dafa practitioner in Shandong Province, China

(Minghui.org) I live by Falun Dafa's principles of “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.” I work in a mall, selling shoes and clothes, and want to provide my customers with the best service.

Many customers commented that they were truly impressed with my patience and kindness, no matter how much I had to help them, although they ended up not buying anything.

Then, I used that opportunity to tell them: “I am a Falun Dafa practitioner. Our teacher taught us to be considerate of others. I will not force you to buy something that you are not satisfied with. I will try my best for you to be pleased with the product.”

Worrying about Fuzzballs

A customer wanted to buy a pair of pants, so she asked me whether the material would develop fuzzballs.

I smiled and replied, “I am not sure.”

She raised her voice, “Can you make sure that it will not cause fuzzballs?”

I politely said, “I cultivate Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and cannot lie. I don't have that kind of pants myself, so I really don't know.”

She laughed, “You are so honest. Just because of that, even if it does cause fuzzballs, I will still buy the pants.”

Recovering from a Heart Condition

A middle-aged woman came to my store to buy clothes. She looked around for a while but did not like anything.

She suddenly sat down and put her hand on her chest: “Oh no, I forgot my medicine!” She looked pale and in pain.

I said to her: “You will be alright if you recite, 'Falun Dafa is good’ and ‘Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.' I believe that will help you.”

She was skeptical: “Just reciting 'Falun Dafa is good' will work?” I nodded and told her that just a day ago, my brother had avoided the onset of a stroke by reciting the phrases.

My brother was playing a table game with his friends and suddenly leaned over on the table–he could not move one of his arms and legs. On the way to the hospital, I urged him to keep reciting the two phrases, and by the time he arrived, he had recovered.

The woman listened attentively and said, “Wow, it is powerful. Alright, I will recite it as well.”

After a while, she stood up: “Hey, it worked! It worked even better than my medicine! I want to learn Falun Dafa from you, will that be alright?” I was delighted to hear that.

Patience and Endurance

Some customers can be very trying to my patience and endurance. I usually view the situation as tests, remind myself to be extra cautious, and handle it well.

A man in his 40s came to purchase shoes. He sat down and pointed to over six different shoes to try on. He was not happy with any of them and asked to try more pairs. He was demanding and rude. I remembered Dafa's teachings. No matter how difficult he was, I kept my composure and didn't get upset.

When I tripped over the boxes of the shoes he tried on, he said sorrily, “I guess you have very good customer service.”

He helped me clean up the mess. I smiled and said, “Well, I practice Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Nothing like what you see on TV, right?”

I told him more about Dafa and the persecution, as well as the importance of quitting the CCP. He made the right choice that day!

Empathy

A man in his 80s came to buy shoes. I helped him pick a pair. He appeared anxious and worried. He asked if he could exchange the shoes if his wife didn't like them.

I assured him that it was alright. He came back a couple more times to exchange the shoes because his wife found something wrong with each pair with her magnifying glasses. The staff and other customers all laughed at the absurdity.

I felt sorry for him. His anxiety got the best of him, and he went back and forth in the heat without having had lunch–just to get a pair of shoes.

I reassured him that the first pair he selected was actually a good one. I told him that I am a cultivator and would not fool him. He looked at me, took my advice, and took the very first pair he had tried on.
