Clarifying the Facts to Officers in Legal Departments

September 11, 2018 |   By a Falun Dafa practitioner in China

(Minghui.org) People who work in legal departments are among the victims of the government's propaganda campaign against Falun Dafa, and they are also people that we want to help save.

Master Li Hongzhi said,

Compassion can harmonize Heaven and Earth, ushering in springRighteous thoughts can save the people in this world(“The Fa Rectifies the Cosmos” from Hong Yin Volume II)

Whenever I had a chance to meet people working in legal departments, I clarified the facts about Dafa to them with kindness and compassion, and the results were good. I'd like to share one case here.

About 20 officers from the local police department, the township government, and the community center came to my home in February 2017. I refused to open the door for them because they didn't have a search warrant. They had a locksmith open my door and they barged in. I asked Master to not let them see the over 100 Dafa books on my bookshelf. They searched the rooms but didn't see my Dafa books.

They took two computers, two printers, and 5000 bank notes on which I had printed information about Dafa. They refused to leave a list of the things they confiscated and left a mess behind. I was not scared however, and thought it was an opportunity for me to later clarify the facts to them.

Officers from the Municipal Domestic Security Division called me into the police station. They produced a search warrant and requested that I sign it. They told me to backdate my signature to February 26. I refused, and they became angry.

Several months later, they gathered so-called evidence and put it into a file of 78 pages. When they took me to the city by car, the car hit a guardrail and was damaged on one side. One police officer asked me if I had recited “Falun Dafa is good and Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” I told him that the accident was a warning, and that he shouldn't treat me unfairly. He seemed to be upset and didn't say anything.

The officers demanded that I sign the file when we arrived at the police department. I refused and was threatened. I told them it was not good for them if I signed because the file would then become evidence of their crime. The team leader then took me to the Procuratorate and I clarified the facts to the staff there.

I wrote an appeal statement upon returning home, and distributed it far and wide. My case reached the court, and I went there to tell everyone the truth about the persecution. I gave them my appeal statement and wrote on the file, “I committed no crime. I was framed.” I also added a copy of my appeal to the file.

My relatives and friends got nervous when I was notified of the trial date. They told me not to say anything in court, otherwise my pension would be canceled. I then got anxious, but one practitioner reminded me that it was the same situation when friends and relatives asked me to take medicine while going through a sickness. I realized that I should let go of my human heart and allow Master to arrange everything for me. My mind became clear.

Other practitioners suggested that I hire a lawyer. My acquaintance, the head of the criminal court at the local intermediate court, told me that the verdict had been decided in advance, and it would not matter whether I hired a lawyer or not. So I didn't hire a lawyer and decided to defend myself.

While speaking in my own defense, the judge interrupted me and asked the public prosecutor to speak first. I answered the first question and then realized that I shouldn't cooperate and didn't answer any more questions. The judge said if I signed a statement, I could leave.

I replied to him, “Sir, you will be blessed if you treat Dafa practitioners kindly. For your own happiness and that of your family, please treat them kindly. I would feel guilty had I not told you this, because people incur retribution for persecuting Dafa practitioners.”

I hadn't received any verdict three months after the court trial. Then one day, the leader of the Domestic Security Division came to see me and told me that the president and vice president of the court were waiting for me at the school. He asked me not to speak or just say a little. But it was my responsibility to clarify the facts to them, so it was impossible not to speak. When I got to the school, I saw the principal, president and vice president of the court, and some other teachers. The court president said, “We have reported your case to the officers above. They said you still don't have a clear understanding of the issue. We don't care if you practice at home. But you shouldn't advocate for it or drag others to practice.”

I took this opportunity to tell them the facts, and about the heavenly principle that good is rewarded and evil is punished.

Two days later, I went to the court and thoroughly clarified the facts to the court president. I told him that people benefited from practicing Falun Dafa. I then wished him well, shook his hand, and started to leave when I noticed that everyone in his office was smiling. I added, “Dafa practitioners have a kind heart. I wish you all a good career and happiness.”
