(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 5 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 10 were illegally arrested.

Ms. Wang Guixiang, 50, from Qingshan District was arrested in October 2017. She has been held for over 10 months.

Ms. Duan Yuzhen, 71, from Kun District, was arrested on April 16, 2018, for talking to people about Falun Gong on her cell phone.

Both practitioners are being held in the Guchengwan Detention Center in Donghe District.

Ms. Yi Xiaoping was arrested in May 2018. She is being held in the Changchun City No. 4 Detention Center.

3. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Zhongli Arrested

Mr. Wang Zhongli from Zhifu District was recently arrested when he was talking to people about Falun Gong.

4. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhu Chunlian Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Zhu Chunlian was arrested by officers from the Yejin Street Police Station, Qingshan District, in early July 2018. The police confiscated her Falun Gong books. Ms. Zhu was taken to the Beihu Brainwashing Center.

5. [Liupanshui City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Ma Yongju Detained

Ms. Ma Yongju was arrested by officers from the Dewu Police Station on the evening of August 21, 2018. She was held in the Liupanshui City Administrative Detention Center for seven days.

6. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Xiyong Abused in Prison

Mr. Liu Xiyong, 78, and eight other practitioners were arrested in March 2018 for distributing Falun Gong materials. Mr. Liu was released the same day for failing the physical examination. He was arrested again on April 9, 2018, and taken to the Benxi City No. 4 Prison in May.

Mr. Liu's family visited him on August 23^rd and learned that he suffered from many illnesses, including a heart disease, cerebral infarction and high blood pressure.

7. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Deng Arrested

Ms. Deng was arrested on the morning of August 23, 2018. Her whereabouts are unknown.

8. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Cai Jinfeng and Ms. Zhang Chunli Arrested

Ms. Zhang Chunli from Dayushan New Area in Nanpiao District was arrested at home on August 23, 2018. Her home was ransacked.

Ms. Cai Jinfeng was arrested by officers from the Nuanchitang Town Police Station at the same time.

9. [Suizhong County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ren Chunrong and Ms. Wang Sujun Arrested

Ms. Ren Chunrong from Qiuzigou Township was arrested at home by officers from the Suizhong County Domestic Security Division on the evening of August 22, 2018.

Ms. Wang Sujun was arrested at the same time.

10. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xu Guixian Detained

Ms. Xu Guixian was arrested by officers from the Tiexin Police Station on the evening of July 19, 2018. She was held in the Jinzhou City Women's Detention Center.

11. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Cao Guozhi Passes Away

Lindian County resident Mr. Cao Guozhi graduated from the Physics Department of Jiamusi Teachers Institute. He then taught at Lindian No. 3 Middle School in Daqing City. He began to practice Falun Gong in 1996.

Mr. Cao was placed under criminal detention many times after the Chinese Communist Party started persecuting Falun Gong on July 20, 1999. He was given a four-year prison term and fired from his job in 2002.

While imprisoned, he was severely tortured, including being beaten and given unknown drugs. The prison officials have been lacing his meals with unknown drugs, causing him to have a mental breakdown and muscle atrophy. He could no longer care for himself.

After he was released, Mr. Cao was always weak, experienced soreness all over his body, could not urinate and became blind in both eyes.

He passed away in extreme pain on June 4, 2017, at the age of 44.

Mr. Zhou Shengsong was arrested on July 24, 2018.
