(Minghui.org) Since the onset of the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, the leaders of my mother's school have visited our family on sensitive dates to supposedly check if she was at home. I didn't like them. But after graduation I was given a job at the same school. I still held a grudge against some of the school leaders.
Master must have seen this human notion. He thus arranged for me to be assigned to this school, so I could find this attachment and eliminate it.
I was assigned to assist the schoolmaster and moved my desk into his office. I noticed that the more attachments I let go of, the more the schoolmaster changed.
The Fa teaches us that everything we come across is related to our cultivation. I understood that this assignment must be a way to help me improve in cultivation. Besides, this would also be an opportunity to help the schoolmaster learn the truth about Falun Dafa.
When starting my assignment, I thought of him as “evil” and did not like him at all. He also avoided me. So the relationship was quite awkward.
When we were the only ones in the office, we talked about traditional culture. He said that it was part of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism. He then gave me a detailed explanation, including their origin and development.
These conversations changed my attitude toward him from dislike to respect. We subsequently often talked about Chinese traditional culture and compared it to the current political system. He came to the conclusion that the current system was awful. I believe that these conversations laid the foundation for him quitting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in the future.
While comparing the education system, he commented that the current school system suffocates talented people and that the textbooks were missing the essence of traditional culture. He often praised the ancient education system, because students would meditate, and clear their minds and hearts before reading or writing—there were many great writers and thinkers in our country.
Our relationship became harmonious and we often had a lot to talk about. So I began to talk about Buddha school cultivation and then moved to the subject of Falun Dafa. He accepted my Buddha school cultivation comments but thought that Falun Dafa was insignificant.
He had certainly been brainwashed by many years of state media propaganda. He reminded me not to get involved with Dafa, as it could have a detrimental effect on my career. I assured him that Falun Dafa is an excellent cultivation system of the Buddha school and would benefit me instead.
I asked myself why he could not accept Falun Dafa and realized that though I respected him, I lacked compassion for him.
He then appeared to be very curious about Dafa and asked questions about it when only the two of us were in the office.
I patiently clarified the truth about Dafa, just as if he was a stranger. I also begged Master to strengthen my wisdom because the schoolmaster was a very knowledgeable person.
I started with the basics, such as the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, which he could accept without making an issue out of it.
I then talked about the issue of practitioners seeing medical professionals for health care. The schoolmaster practiced Taiji and was aware of Chinese traditional medicine. So I used these two practices to help him understand the theory. I explained that practicing Dafa improves a practitioners' health and thus they usually do not need any medical attention.
He became doubtful when I addressed the “Tiananmen Self-immolation” incident, and told him that it was done to frame Dafa. I said that if Dafa encourages people to commit suicide, why was there only the self-immolation incident and even with millions of practitioners around the world, there was no other news of any suicides since Dafa’s introduction.
He had been brainwashed for a long time, so it was hard to address all the ingrained propaganda facts. I kept reminding myself not to let any negative thoughts come into our conversations, and to be attentive to his degree of acceptance.
The schoolmaster complained that the current education system was focused solely on passing exams, and ignored teaching moral standards. This helped me realize that he still had righteous thoughts and a kind heart.
Before starting a conversation I said, “You are very kind. You are a leader not just of knowledge, but you also bring to the table good morals. If there were more education leaders like you, who put compassion and love on top of grades, our education system would be much better,” and “Your principles of conducting things conform to Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, the universal values.”
He accepted my comments and moved closer to the principles Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. My intention was not to flatter him. I praised his kindness and righteous thoughts with a sincere attitude.
Master said,
“And your words will have energy and be able to eliminate his biases and attachments. They can have that impact, and can suppress the bad things in his mind that would otherwise foul things up at the time. Only this way will you be able to save the person.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the 2016 New York Fa Conference”)
Our conversation continued when only the two of us were in the office. He asked about my mother and seemed concerned about her.
I talked about her health issues that disappeared after she went on her cultivation path. I asked him, “Do you often see people of your age without any ailments? Falun Dafa practitioners like my mother have saved a lot of money for the government's medical system.”
He agreed. I continued by saying that my mother was taking care of her mother-in-law and daughter-in-law and that they were just like mother and daughter. Besides, she has no complaints about being taken advantage of by relatives. “Every Falun Gong practitioner is like her,” I said.
He was surprised that practicing Falun Gong could harmonize relationships between mother and daughter-in-law, a rather difficult relationship.
He told me that his grandfather had been persecuted by the CCP because he spoke the truth. This showed that he was not fond of the Party. I then told him about the organ harvesting, which is what helped him decide to quit the Party.
I told him to search a phrase “Body processing plant in Dalian City.” The search results included a lot of images of human bodies. He clicked on the first one and it was the body of a pregnant woman with a fetus of 7 or 8 months old.
He was stunned. I immediately added, “the Chinese tradition is to keep the whole body of the deceased. An ordinary person won't agree to let his wife and baby to be exhibited with the skin peeled off.”
After a while, he said in a low voice, “so it really had happened.”
I showed him on my smartphone a report about organ harvesting in China. He watched attentively.
In the end, he said, “Often the information spread by mouth is more reliable than that of state-controlled media. The organ harvesting crimes are real. It is too bad. You have to bring justice to people sooner or later. This is too cruel.”
