(Minghui.org) I emigrated to the United States from China a few years ago. I have participated in a few Falun Dafa projects involving computers, which made me realize that some applications such as WeChat and QQ are what the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) uses to monitor people.
Because I had not installed any of those apps on my cell phone, I felt a bit inconvenienced from time to time by not having them. Many of my classmates contacted each other through WeChat and they used both apps to conduct some business activities as well.
I just say that I do not have WeChat. Sometimes I would go even further and use this topic as a way to clarify the facts about Falun Dafa. I mention how the CCP has been stealing people's private information and monitoring people's day-to-day life, then bring up the persecution of Falun Dafa and its practitioners. After I asked people to either reach me by my phone or text, I found those methods worked as well as the two apps.
My son has participated in some Dafa projects as well. After he read the Minghui website notice about uninstalling WeChat, he uninstalled it from his phone. Then, I showed him how to reset his phone to the default settings.
At first, he complained about not being able to get in touch with his friends any more. But soon enough, he installed another chat application, which was developed by a company outside of China, and was able to connect with his friends again. In addition, after he uninstalled WeChat, he played with his cell phone a lot less.

“It is not that Minghui Net does not make mistakes, however, on important matters, practitioners must pay attention to the attitude of Minghui Net.” (Minghui Editorials: “Notice: A Second Authentic New Article of Master Li Since July 22, 1999 Will Be Published in a Few Days”)
After we fully aligned on this issue and then reset his cell phone to the default settings, we both felt better. On the surface, it appeared to be a simple thing, but in essence, we escaped from using a rogue application and cleansing our Internet space.
More importantly, we eliminated problems inherent when using WeChat and setting an iPhone with simplified Chinese. We no longer leaked information and other practitioners' contact information, as well as information related to the Dafa projects we participated in, to the CCP.
We came to realize that if all practitioners would follow the instructions in the Notice, it would be a great opportunity to make up for the loophole by working collectively.
In practitioners' dimensional fields, we had been overlooking our own security, fellow practitioners security, as well as leaking information about Dafa projects. Thus, we provided a way for the CCP to persecute us. As long as we all take action and remove the apps, we will dismantle the CCP's existence to a certain extent, which the evil forces fear most.
Since the notice was published, some practitioners have reset their cell phones, but some either did not take action or are still deciding what to do. They are probably thinking from the perspective of how their day-to-day life will be affected, including business and social connections. I want to say to these practitioners that the issue should not be overlooked.
We clearly know that certain apps provide a loophole. However, if we only think of our own needs, we forget why we are here and our responsibilities and missions.
Actually, as long as one changes ones viewpoint, and does the things one is supposed to do, one will realize that whatever one was concerned about turned out to be nothing. One has nothing to lose.
