(Minghui.org) A teacher was taking a nap at her dorm in Nankang Town Middle School, Beihai City on April 13, 2018 when her ex-husband and a group of officers stormed in and seized her.

Ms. Yang Qun was targeted because she refused to renounce Falun Gong, a mind-body practice being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.

Ms. Yang's parents called her principal after failing to get in touch with her. The principal said that their school has petitioned for her release.

The school's request was turned down by secretary Lin of the local Political and Legal Affairs Committee (PLAC), an extra-judicial agency tasked with eradicating Falun Gong and given power to override the judicial system.

By law, neither Ye nor the PLAC had any right to interfere with Ms. Yang's personal life or her faith in Falun Gong. The local authorities, however, allowed them to send Ms. Yang to Yintan Brainwashing Center.

While Ms. Yang remains in detention, her parents have been harassed by police. Nong Tianxiong, head of the local Domestic Security Office, showed up at the elderly couple's home on May 17 and demanded to know who their daughter had contacted and whether she had produced and distributed materials exposing the persecution of Falun Gong.

The couple said that they knew nothing about their daughter's activities. Nong questioned if they had rented a place for Ms. Yang to live, and they said no. Nong revealed that the police had searched Ms. Yang's rental place and photographed the Falun Gong informational materials found there. He said that the police would continue to monitor the rental place and arrest Falun Gong practitioners who tried to contact Ms. Yang.

Nong came to Ms. Yang's parents' home again several days later. They still denied any knowledge of their daughter's Falun Gong-related activities. They called their ex-son-in-law afterwards, and he said, “How can we release her [Ms. Yang] when she refuses to cooperate?”
