(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Qiaobian, 66, from Renqiou City was arrested on August 9, 2017. Although, she pleaded not guilty, she was sentenced to 2 years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan on April 4, 2018. She appealed and her case was heard on May 9, 2018.

Arrest, Detention, and Torture

Ms. Wang was arrested at her home by the domestic security officers from the Rennan District Branch Office of the Jizhong Police Department.

She was given a physical and found to have very high blood pressure. They force-fed her drugs to lower her blood pressure, but it remained high. They took her to the detention center in the Jizhong Police Department anyway.

Shi Chunyu, the political director at the detention center, ordered two doctors to give Ms. Wang blood pressure pills numerous times throughout the day, yet her blood pressure still registered very high. Shi then took Ms. Wang to the office, called in several officers, and threatened her. He made her take an unknown powder, after which she vomited blood.

Guards beat her and kept her in solitary confinement during the day. They took her back to her cell at night. They kept her shackled during the day and forced her to clean the bathrooms in the afternoon and at night.

Her blood pressure remained high for 21 days and her life was at risk. The authorities notified her family to take her home, but they continued to monitor her.

Officers from the Xinhualu Police Station harassed Ms. Wang at home on January 14, 2018. They confiscated her identification card because they worried that she might go to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong.

She was also taken for another physical. Her blood pressure was high, preventing the police from taking her to a detention center.
