(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 18 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 2 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 26 were illegally arrested.

1. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wei Yongqing Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Wei Yongqing, a retiree from Xihua University (formerly Sichuan Institute of Technology) was tried on May 31, 2018. She was sentenced to a five-year prison term with probation, and fined 20,000 yuan.

2. [Xingcheng City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Song Riping Detained

Mr. Song Riping from Dazhai Township was arrested on the afternoon of May 30, 2018. He is being held in the Huludao Detention Center.

3. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhou Haiyan's mother from the Development Zone, Ms. Liu Qingtao from the Jinzhou District, Ms. Zhu from Shenyang City, and Ms. Sun Jie were arrested on their way back from visiting a lawyer on May 31, 2018.

Ms. Zhou's mother was released later that day. The other three practitioners were taken into custody.

4. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Shi Yingji Detained

Mr. Shi Yingji from Beijing went to Qingdao City on a business trip. He was arrested by officers from the Qingdao Police Station on May 29, 2018.

Mr. Shi is being held in the Qingdao Railway Detention Center.

5. [Yanggu County, Shandong Province] Ms. Chen Cailin Arrested

Ms. Chen Cailin was arrested by domestic security officers from the Yanggu Police Station on May 30, 2018.

6. [Ningyang County, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners Detained

Mr. Li Guo, Mr. Xu Fanxin, and Ms. Ma Xiumei were arrested by officers from the Ningyang County Police Department in the early morning of May 27, 2018. Ms. Bai Xuehua was arrested the following evening.

Mr. Li and Mr. Xu are being held in the Ningyang County Detention Center. Ms. Ma and Ms. Bai are being held in the Tai'an City Detention Center.

7. [Linqu County, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Ruxiu Arrested

Ms. Liu Ruxiu, from Songzhuang Village, Yeyuan Town, was arrested at her home by officers from the Linqu County Domestic Security Division on the morning of May 29, 2018. The officers ransacked the place and confiscated her Falun Gong books and printing devices.

8. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yu Jinying Arrested

Ms. Yu Jinying, from Dongjia Village, Economic Development Zone, was arrested on the morning of May 29, 2018, while she was talking to people about Falun Gong in the Weifang Farmers' Market.

9. [Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Ma Yunhua Detained

Ms. Ma Yunhua is being held in the Special Police Detention Center, Lianhu Police Department.

10. [Huangshi City, Hubei Province] Ms. Dong Guizhi Arrested

Ms. Dong Guizhi, 67, was videotaped and reported to the 110 Response Unit by two people from the neighborhood committee, while she was talking to people about Falun Gong on the morning of May 30, 2018. She was arrested.

Ms. Dong's photos of the founder of Falun Gong and a full set of Falun Gong books were confiscated.

11. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Wu Liru Detained

Ms. Wu Liru from the Yuelu District was arrested in the Lushanmingyuan area on May 26, 2018. Her home was ransacked, and she was taken to the Xihu Police Station.

Ms. Wu is being held in the Changsha City No. 4 Detention Center.

12. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Qian Ruixiang Arrested Again

Ms. Qian Ruixiang, 60, was arrested at her home around 10:00 p.m. on May 23 2018. Officers from the local police station and the Huanggu District Domestic Security Office were involved in the arrest. Her family were not initially informed of her arrest or detention.

Ms. Qian was previously arrested on August 13, 2009, for refusing to renounce her belief in Falun Gong.

13. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Jiang Jianhua Tried

Ms. Jiang Jianhua was arrested in October 2017, for spreading information about Falun Gong. She was tried on May 25, 2018. Only her husband, daughter, and son-in-law were allowed to attend the trial. Ms. Jiang's lawyer entered a “not guilty” plea for her, and she testified in her own defense.

The lawyer refuted the prosecution's evidence and demanded that Ms. Jiang be acquitted.

Huang Wei, head of the Dadong District Domestic Security Office, was heard asking the judge at the end of the hearing, “What has the lawyer said in court?” He also said that he'd gather more evidence against Ms. Jiang.

The judge scheduled a second hearing for June 8.

14. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Ms. Fang Jianping’s Appeal Turned Down

Ms. Fang Jianping, 55, was arrested on September 3, 2016, and sentenced to four and a half years in prison on February 2, 2018. She appealed to the Lanzhou City Intermediate Court, but the original verdict was uphold in late April.

This is not the first time that Ms. Fang has been incarcerated for her faith. She has been imprisonment for eight years, and served two years of forced labor for her faith.

15. [Chishui City, Guizhou Province] Mr. Dai Qiyuan Taken to Prison

Mr. Dai Qiyuan, 66, went missing on March 18, 2017. His family spent six months trying to find him, only to learn that he had been sentenced to three and a half years in prison, for refusing to renounce his belief in Falun Gong. He was taken to the Dunjun Prison.

Mr. Dai has been arrested numerous times for his belief, and has been incarcerated for a total of 11 years.

16. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced

Ms. Zhang Jianying, Ms. Hu Ruifang, Ms. Zhao Shuqiong, and Ms. Zhu Suyun were arrested on June 17, 2016, for sending text messages about the persecution of Falun Gong.

The four practitioners went through three court hearings on February 24, April 27, and September 13, 2017. Ms. Zhang appeared extremely weak during the hearings.

All four women were sentenced on May 30, 2018.

Ms. Zhang was sentenced to two and a half years in prison.Ms. Hu was sentenced to three and a half years in prison.Ms. Zhao was sentenced to three years in prison.Ms. Zhu was sentenced to one and a half years in prison.

17. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Lin Jinlan Detained

Ms. Lin Jinlan, 75, a retired teacher, was arrested on May 28, 2018, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Her husband was forced to sign her arrest warrant. She is being held in the Meizhou City Detention Center.

Ms. Lin was previously arrested on October 13, 2003 and wasn't released until December 29, 2003. She was arrested again on January 18, 2014, while talking to people about Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked.

18. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Yang Qiuren and Ms. Yang Jinhua Detained

Mr. Yang Qiuren and Ms. Yang Jinhua were arrested by officers from the Changxing Police Station and Tianhe District Domestic Security Division on May 12, 2017, because they mailed informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong to the police.

Mr. and Ms. Yang were taken to the Tianhe District Detention Center, with the excuse of “undermining law enforcement.”

19. [Beijing] Ms. Liu Dongxing Detained

Ms. Liu Dongxing, 31, was arrested by officers from the Hepingli Police Station around March 12, 2018. The police went to the Intel Company Beijing Branch, where Ms. Liu works two days later.

Ms. Liu was taken to the Dongcheng Detention Center. Her family has hired a lawyer, who has only been allowed to meet Ms. Liu once.

The case is still being investigated.
