(Minghui.org) Mr. Xie Rongchun opened his door at 10 a.m. on May 17, 2018 to find police waiting outside. They rushed in to search his home and confiscated a lot of personal belongings.

Both Mr. Xie and his wife, Ms. Xu Na, were arrested. The couple was targeted because they refuse to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.

The arresting officers included Sun Ruixian (head of the local Erdao District Domestic Security Office), a man surnamed Yang in his 40s, a man surnamed Xu in his 30s, a man surnamed Yi in his 50s or 60s, and Yu Lin (near retirement age). They also called in Dong Pengcheng (chief of Balibao Police Station) and officer Zhang Ce midway through the home search.

The couple was interrogated from 2 to 9 p.m. at Erdao Police Branch that day. They were then taken to Changchun City Zhongxin Hospital for a medical examination.

The Changchun Fourth Detention Center declined to admit Ms. Xu due to her poor health condition three times. The police eventually took her back to the police branch at 4 a.m. on May 18. She wasn't released until 2 p.m that day. Her family was forced to pay 10,000 yuan in exchange for her release.

Mr. Xie is being held at Changchun Third Detention Center.

The couple's cell phones are still being held by the police. We remind local Falun Gong practitioners who have had contact with the couple to be mindful of cellphone security and personal safety.
