(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 6 provinces. According to this report, 15 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 12 were illegally arrested.

1. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Huang Qiang Detained

Ms. Huang Qiang, 40, from the South Campus of Jilin University, was arrested by officers from the Chongqinglu Police Station on February 14, 2018, while putting up Falun Gong posters on Chongqing Road. Her home was ransacked.

Ms. Huang was taken to the Weizigou Detention Center for 15 days before being transferred to the Changchun City No. 4 Detention Center. She went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution.

2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Sanman Mistreated

Ms. Zhang Sanman, from Shihe Town in the Jinzhou District, was arrested on the evening of March 19, 2018. She was taken to the Yaojia Detention Center but failed the physical, so she was then taken to Paotai Police Station and held there overnight. Ms. Zhang was taken back to the same detention center the following day and is still being held there.

Ms. Zhang's lawyer visited her on the afternoon of April 10, 2018, and said that she was very thin, unable to urinate, and suffered from hyperthyroidism. She was forced to put her fingerprint on an unknown document during her interrogation.

3. [Beijing] Ms. Qiao Baoqin Detained

Ms. Qiao Baoqin and another practitioner from the Huairou District were arrested by officers from the Huairou Police Department, 610 Office, and Miaocheng Police Station on April 10, 2018, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Their homes were ransacked.

Ms. Qiao is being held in the Huairou Detention Center.

4. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Feng Lichun Detained

Ms. Feng Lichun from the No. 9 Farm in the Caofeidian District was arrested on April 12, 2018, for distributing Falun Gong materials. The police ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Gong books and photos of the founder of the practice.

Ms. Feng is being held in the Caofeidian Detention Center.

5. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Officers from the Qingshanhu Police Department broke into Ms. Li Fenyu's home on April 10, 2018. They arrested Ms. Li, Ms. Liu Haizhen, Ms. Chen Dongmei, Ms. Hu Huomei, and Mr. Xu Jianfei, who were all studying the Falun Gong teachings with Ms. Li at the time.

Ms. Li's home was ransacked and all of the practitioners were taken to the police department.

Four practitioners were released two days later, but Ms. Hu was taken to the Nanchang City Detention Center where she is still being held.

6. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Xia Mingjin and Ms. Wen Yan Detained

Mr. Xia Mingjin and Ms. Wen Yan were arrested by officers from the Qingshanhu District Police Department on the evening of April 3, 2018, for putting up Falun Gong banners. They are being held in the Nanchang City No. 1 Detention Center.

7. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wu Xianyi Arrested

Ms. Wu Xianyi from the Spa Railroad Nursing Home was arrested on the morning of April 7, 2018. Her home was ransacked.

Ms. Wu was pushed into a police car and taken to the Yihaoqiao Police Station, where she was interrogated. The police extorted 500 yuan from Ms. Wu's son before releasing her later that day.

8. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Huang Xiaofen Taken to Prison

Ms. Huang Xiaofen appealed to the Chenzhou City Intermediate Court after being sentenced to prison by the Beihu District Court. The original verdict was upheld on April 9, 2018, without a hearing.

When Ms. Huang's family went visit her at the Chenzhou Detention Center on April 14, they were informed that she had been transferred to the Changsha Women's Prison on April 12.

9. [Baojing County, Hunan Province] Five Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Five practitioners were sentenced to prison by the Baojing County Court on April 3, 2018.

Ms. Wu Minglian, in her 50s, was sentenced to three years.Ms. Wu Mingxiang, 69, and Mr. Ding Lin, 48, were each sentenced to two years.Ms. Li Shunzhen, in her 50s, and Ms. Xiang Jiayu, in her 40s, were each sentenced to one year.

10. [Chongqing] Five Practitioners Sentenced

Five practitioners were sentenced and taken to the Chongqing Women's Prison.

Ms. Wang Aihua was sentenced to five years and is being held in the No. 3 Ward.

Ms. Quan Qiming and Ms. Gao Yunxia were both sentenced to five years; Ms. Huang Zhenglan was sentenced to four years, and Ms. Gu Yiyi was sentenced to three years. The four women are being held in the No. 8 Ward.

A prison guard punched and kicked Ms. Quan for shouting “Falun Dafa is Good.” They then stuffed something into her mouth before sealing it with tape. The guards beat her for two days in a row.

11. [Chongqing] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Bai Shuying and Ms. Liu Ping have been tried and are awaiting sentencing. They are being held in the Yubei District Detention Center, where Ms. Li Zhonglan is also being detained
