Sixteen Guangdong Falun Gong Practitioners Still Illegally Imprisoned

(Minghui.org) Five of the sixteen Falun Gong practitioners from Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province, currently being illegally detained for refusing to give up their faith have been sentenced to between three and five-year prison terms.

Three of the sixteen are now in Guangdong Province Women's Prison, nine are in detention centers in Zhuhai, and two are in the Sanshui Brainwashing Center. The whereabouts of the remaining two practitioners is unknown.

Guangdong Province Women's Prison (3)

Ms. Luo Jun was arrested at home and her home ransacked on September 2, 2015. She was held in the No. 1 Detention Center in Zhuhai before being tried and sentenced to a five-year prison term in February 2016. Ms. Luo appealed, but the original verdict was upheld. She is now in Guangdong Province Women's Prison.

Ms. Chen Guangyun was arrested at her shop on September 4, 2015, and her home was ransacked. She was taken to the Zhuhai No. 1 Detention Center. She was sentenced to a four-year prison term in January 2016. Ms. Chen appealed, but the original verdict was upheld. She is also incarcerated in Guangdong Province Women's Prison.

Ms. Wu Xiaoju, in her fifties, was arrested in April 2016 for distributing Falun Gong information. She was sentenced to a three and a half year term and is in Guangdong Province Women's Prison.

Zhuhai Detention Center (9)

The Minghui website reported that Ms. Lu Huiling and her daughter Ms. Chen Jing were arrested in Jiangxi Province and returned to Zhuhai City in March 2016. They have been held in Zhuhai No. 1 Detention Center. No further information about them is available.

According to the Minghui website, Ms. Guan LanJiao, in her forties, was followed by police officers on the evening of November 3, 2016, as she was putting up Falun Gong posters. She was arrested and her home was ransacked. She is now in Zhuhai Detention Center. 

. Lin Yongxu and his wife Ms. Li Sujuan were arrested at home on May 20, 2017, along with 15 other practitioners. Their home was ransacked. Mr. Lin was taken to the Meixi No. 1 Detention Center and Ms. Li to the Meixi No. 2 Detention Center. On June 28, they were transferred to Sanshui Brainwashing Center for about three weeks. They have since been held in Zhuhai Detention Center.

The district court has refused to take their case twice, but they are still being held. The police are trying to get them indicted for the third time.

Ms. Lu Jianwen was one of the 17 practitioners arrested at the home of Mr. Lin Youngxu. She was taken to the Zhuhai No. 2 Detention Center. The Doumen District Court signed the arrest warrant a month later on June 28. A trial was scheduled for January 29, 2018, but it did not take place.

Mr. Liu Dingsong, another of the 17 practitioners arrested at Mr. Lin's home, has been held in the Zhuhai No. 1 Detention Center.

Ms. Zeng Qing was yet another person arrested at Mr. Lin's. She was released but arrested again on September 21, 2017. Her home was ransacked. She is being held in the Zhuhai Detention Center and her family is not allowed to visit her.

Mr. Chen Yudi was arrested in July 2017. He was wrongly accused of damaging public property. Both his store and home were ransacked, and many personal belongings, including a computer, were confiscated. He is being held in Doumen Detention Center. His family was not allowed to visit him and he was denied bail.

Sanshui Brainwashing Center (2)

Ms. Chen Honge, in her forties, was a new practitioner when she went missing in February 2016 and has not been heard from for the past two years. According to secondhand information, she was taken to Sanshui Brainwashing Center.

Ms. Wang Jieying was arrested at a calligraphy art shop, where she worked, on April 12, 2017. She has since been held in Sanshui Brainwashing Center.

Unknown Locations (2)

Dr. Li Wei and his wife Ms. Cao Wenying were arrested at home by plainclothes officers from Zhongshan City Police Department on March 9, 2017. Their home was ransacked. They were both sentenced to three-year terms following an illegal trial in the Zhongshan First District Court on October 11. It is not clear where they are currently being held.
