(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners held an event in Trafalgar Square on March 24 to celebrate 300 million people quitting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations.

Local residents and visitors of London stopped to learn about Falun Gong and the persecution in China. Many signed a petition calling for an end to the CCP's crime of harvesting organs from unlawfully imprisoned practitioners.

Ms. Jill Thorne, a resident of London who enjoys Tai-chi, was very interested when she heard about the benefits of Falun Gong.

“This should be promoted, not persecuted!” said Thorne. “I can tell it's beautiful and relaxing in a fast-paced, modern life. It's a shame for the Chinese government to ban it in China. The Chinese need to continue doing this beautiful, spiritual meditation. I hope they will have freedom soon.”

Allie, a professional photographer, and her visiting friend Beth said they were drawn to the celebration. Allie said, “Falun Gong is peaceful. How could anyone persecute them and throw them into prison? Seeing them makes me feel calm and gives me positive energy. The persecution doesn't make any sense!”

Allie and Beth thought 300 million people quitting the CCP was very significant and encouraging. Allie said, “I think it's very influential. It tells other countries the true situation in China and the danger of dealing with the Chinese Communist Party.”

Richard from Scotland signs petition to support Falun Gong.

Richard, a schoolteacher from Scotland, said he had seen what the CCP was really like when it cracked down on the student democracy movement in 1989. He was pleased to hear that 300 million Chinese people have quit communist organizations.

A photographer from France watched the celebration and told practitioners that the CCP should have collapsed long ago. He encouraged practitioners to keep up the good work.
