Employer Stands Up For Worker Who Was Detained for Practicing Falun Gong

February 04, 2018 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Chongqing, China

(Minghui.org) The management of Cisdi Engineering Co., Ltd. has been standing up for a star employee since his arrest more than four months ago.

Mr. Wang Zhongming, around 52, is an expert senior engineer at Cisdi. He was seized at home on September 28, 2017 for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a mind-body practice persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.

The Chongqing City resident credits Falun Gong for ending his 7-year-long suffering from hepatitis B. His good health enabled him to stay focused at work, and he led a series of important projects (both domestic and international) to huge success.

Vendors and suppliers alike tried to win his business by offering kickbacks, but Mr. Wang always turned their offers down. He told his business partners that he follows Falun Gong’s principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and that he treats everyone the same.

Mr. Wang was also known as a person who never hesitated to offer help to anyone in need. One of his colleagues had a car accident, and Mr. Wang volunteered to drive him to and from work for more than one year until he made a full recovery.

Upon learning of Mr. Wang’s arrest, his managers rushed to Yuzhou District Domestic Security Office to request his release. The local police not only rejected their request but also refused to allow them to visit Mr. Wang.

His managers and several other colleagues attended Mr. Wang’s trial on January 26, 2018.

Mr. Wang’s two lawyers entered a not guilty plea for him, as no law in China criminalizes Falun Gong. Mr. Wang also testified how Falun Gong returned him to health and emphasized that his practice of Falun Gong caused no harm to anyone, much less undermine law enforcement.

The presiding judge adjourned the session without issuing a verdict. While Mr. Wang remains at Yubei District Detention Center, his company continues to work on his release and his 96-year-old mother is longing for his return.
