A Stark Contrast: Recovery from Depression vs. Suicide

December 31, 2018 |   By Gui Zhen

(Minghui.org) Depression is becoming more and more common in modern society. It has been estimated that more than 300 million people have depression or a tendency towards it. Why is it so prevalent and so hard to treat? There are still more questions than answers concerning this issue that is troubling modern medicine.

In the 15th China Fahui (experience sharing conference) on Minghui.org, a young Falun Gong practitioner recalled her experience with depression: “I understood, after practicing Falun Gong, the reason for my depression. It was because I was contaminated too much by everyday society and many bad substances attacked my body from other dimensions, leading to my depression.

“But at the time, I was unable to extricate myself from this deep misery. And I did not understand where this misery came from. I read a lot of philosophical books to try to understand the meaning of life. Why is life so hard? But I didn't find the answer.

“After practicing Falun Gong, I became happy and open-minded. I feel happy from the bottom of my heart. I understand the meaning of life and see hope. Dafa is the root of my life. My whole family is practicing Falun Gong. We are happy every day.”

This practitioner was born in the 1990s and started practicing Falun Gong in 2013. She has fully recovered from depression and leads a happy life.

This is not an unusual occurrence. You may find many such examples on Minghui.org by searching for recovery from depression.

However, many officials in China commit suicide because of depression. The Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) Legal Daily reported, “The direct reason for the high suicide rate among officials in the political and legal system is depression.” Many middle-aged officials in the political and legal system commit suicide due to depression.

The CCP's Political and Legislative Affairs Committee is an extralegal organization that overrules each level of government. It directly oversees the police, prosecutors, and the courts. The power of the system was strengthened by Jiang Zemin, the former CCP head who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999.

The legal system in China has been manipulated to persecute innocent Falun Gong practitioners since 1999. Countless law-abiding people have been arrested, incarcerated, and tortured. Many were even subjected to the CCP's state-sanctioned live organ harvesting for profit in organ transplant surgeries. Torture is prevalent in brainwashing centers, detention centers, labor camps, prisons, and mental hospitals. Many practitioners were tortured to insanity, were physically disabled, or lost their lives.

The political and legal system in China has no checks and balances and conducts heinous crimes to persecute good people. The officials in the system are manipulated to persecute their fellow citizens. How can they not be depressed? Where is there anything positive in what they are doing?

Li Yongsheng, former secretary of the Pingdingshan Political and Legal Affairs Committee, Henan Province, committed suicide by jumping from a building. He was the main person-in-charge in persecuting Falun Gong in Pingdingshan since 1999. He battled depression prior to his suicide.

Jiang Hongliang, former secretary of the Wuxi Political and Legal Affairs Committee, died after jumping from a 350-foot tower. He suffered from depression before his death. He actively participated in the persecution of Falun Gong.

It is sad that these people have lost their lives to pay for their crimes. Who led them there? It was the CCP and its former head, Jiang Zemin!

The Ultimate Goal of Communism and How the Specter of Communism Is Ruling Our World by the editorial team of the Nine Commentaries on Communist Party expose the true nature of communism. “The essence of communism is that it is a specter. It is made up of hatred and degenerate elements of the universe. It has a deep hatred for human beings and wants to destroy them.” (The Ultimate Goal of Communism)
