(Minghui.org) A native of Huailai County, Hebei Province was recently sentenced to four years in prison for writing “Falun Dafa is good” on a bridge post in Beijing, where he worked.

Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, is a mind-body discipline that has been persecuted by the communist regime since 1999. Because of strict media and internet censorship, many practitioners often post messages in public areas to speak out about the persecution.

Mr. Ding Yuming was arrested on February 27, 2018 after police identified him through surveillance cameras near the bridge in Tongzhou District.

He developed high blood pressure and a heart condition while in detention, and was taken to a hospital on March 2, 2018. During his hospitalization, he went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution and was released on bail on March 7.

His hometown government in Beixinbao Town, Huailai County was ordered to pick him up. The town officials arranged two villagers to stay at his home and monitor him for twenty days. He wasn't allowed to leave home during that period.

Tongzhou District Court in Beijing held a hearing of his case on September 12 and sentenced him to four years on October 30, 2018.

Mr. Ding is now serving time outside of the prison. The authorities are closely monitoring his health. They told Mr. Ding that they would send him to prison as soon as he gets better.
