Police Officer in China: ‘I Want to Stay Away from the Communist Party’

September 20, 2017 |   By a Falun Gong practitioner in China

(Minghui.org) During the suppression of Falun Gong in China, many police officers have participated in the persecution of practitioners, having been misled by Communist Party propaganda. As these people began to learn the facts about Falun Gong from practitioners, their attitudes changed. Below are two examples.

Two Police Officers

One practitioner in my city received a phone call from an officer asking her to go to the police station. The practitioner declined to go and told the officer she did not do anything wrong. The officer then suggested meeting at the entrance to the practitioner's apartment complex. She agreed.

She went to the entrance and saw two officers arriving in a police van. One of them said that he needed to take a picture of the practitioner and began to do so using his cell phone. The other officer asked if she was nervous about this. She said, “I am practicing Falun Gong to become a better person. There is nothing for me to worry about.”

After the first officer finished taking photos, the practitioner said she would take pictures of the officers, too. The officers did not say no, so she started to take pictures. They then began chatting, and the practitioner asked how much they knew about Falun Gong. The officers said that they knew very little. The practitioner explained to them from her own experience how Falun Gong improves the moral values of practitioners based on the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

“Just imagine if there were more practitioners who follow these principles and become good citizens in society. Wouldn't it be easier for you police?” she asked.

“What you said makes sense,” the first officer said. “Do you want me to practice [Falun Gong] too?”

“It is up to you,” the practitioner replied. “At least, I hope you will not blindly follow the Party to persecute innocent practitioners. In fact, many people have renounced their Party membership these days.”

“But I have to work to make a living. Without money, how can I support my family and myself?” The officer seemed confused.

“You can quit the organizations using a pseudonym and continue working,” the practitioner continued. “Since we vowed to devote our lives to the Party when joining its organizations, we have to declare we are renouncing our membership to avoid sinking with it.”

“That is right. I want to stay away from the Communist Party,” the officer agreed.

The other officer said he would also consider renouncing his membership in the Party. He gave his phone number to the practitioner and said, “You are a nice person. You can always contact me when you need help.”

When A Police Officer Visited

An officer visited another practitioner last month. Thinking the man was coming to learn the facts of Falun Gong, the practitioner invited him inside and talked to him.

The practitioner told the officer that China's constitution permits freedom of belief. The officer said he knew that. The practitioner then explained how the practice improved his health and moral character. He gave an example of using his own time and money to pave a road for local residents; when the village offered money to thank him, he turned it down since he just wanted to help people.

“If you look back over the past few decades, you will see that the Chinese Communist Party has killed tens of millions people in numerous political campaigns. The heavens will not allow it to continue, and anyone associated with the Party could receive karmic retribution,” the practitioner said. In addition, many high-ranking officials involved in the persecution have been taken down in recent years for various crimes.

The officer thanked the practitioner and said he would consider quitting the Communist Party.
