(Minghui.org) Before I began to practice Falun Gong in October 1994, I was bedridden for more than a year. Soon, all my illnesses disappeared. I knew Falun Gong was amazing and I was determined to continue practicing.
After the persecution started in 1999, I used every opportunity to tell people about Falun Gong. Many stopped believing the communist party's propaganda and became supportive. Below are some examples.
I was sent to a labor camp in 2000 because of my belief. Soon, I had symptoms of a serious illness. When a doctor examined me he shook his head, indicating my condition was serious. To make sure that I did not die in the labor camp, the camp head decided to send me to a hospital. I told them I would be fine if I could just go home and do the Falun Gong exercises, but they did not listen. They sent me to the local hospital's emergency room (ER), where doctors immediately started to give me oxygen.
I told the medical staff about Falun Gong and the persecution, but they ignored me. When they tried to administer an IV injection, I asked Master for help. In the end, they could not find a vein to insert the needle. I knew Master was helping me because my veins are always easy to find.
On the way back to the labor camp, I told the officers not to act against their conscience and participate in the persecution. The head of the labor camp talked with me for a long time and asked me a lot of questions about Falun Gong. He was impressed and accepted my advice about not getting involved in the suppression. Later, he did help a few practitioners.
After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) fabricated the incident of self-immolation at Tiananmen Square, local officials hosted an exhibition showcasing this and organized all the local residents to visit it. Knowing it was hate propaganda that defamed Falun Gong to poison people, I decided to go there and clarify the truth.
Two practitioners and I went there. They stayed outside to send forth righteous thoughts, and I went in. As soon as I entered the lobby, a police officer stopped me saying I could not enter because I was a practitioner. I explained to him and the other officers that the exhibition was spreading false information. I said, “Falun Gong tells us it is a sin to kill or to commit suicide. We practitioners do not even kill a chicken or a fish.” The officer tried to stop me, but I was not intimidated, “People are rewarded when they do good deeds and punished for doing wrong deeds. The more bad things you do, the more you will have to pay back in the future.” The officer was silent and the other officers smiled in agreement.
One day in 2002 my husband and I walked past a restaurant where some police officers were eating. After we greeted each other I sat with them and told them why I practice Falun Gong, and how I had benefited from it. When one officer asked why I did not give up my belief when I was detained, I explained that practicing Falun Gong not only benefits practitioners, but also has an uplifting effect on society in general. I said, “Whoever persecutes practitioners is doing things against the common good.” The officers listened attentively.
In 2011, the local 610 Office head ordered that I be arrested and I had to stay away from home. When I went back for some personal items, a policeman saw me and wanted to search my apartment. When I stopped him he threatened me, “Your family income is given by the communist party. How dare you do things against it?”
I did not yield. I said, “The Party does not give us Chinese anything. Instead, it spends taxpayers' money and harms innocent people. Falun Gong gives me health and makes me a better person. Is there anything wrong with that?!”
I called to my granddaughter, and said, “Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance is good!” The officer angrily yelled, “Why do you teach the child this?”
I replied, “Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance helps uplift society, while the struggling and violence the Party advocates has made Chinese society a mess. Don't you agree?” I asked. The officer looked at me, but did not say a word. I continued, “You think the Party is strong. But if the Party collapses, who will protect you from punishment from all the bad things it ordered you to do? You will be held accountable for your actions!”
I said, “By the way, do you know why I am not afraid of you?” He asked, “Why?” I replied, “Because as long as I am doing the righteous thing, heaven and the divine will protect me.” The officer left and never came back.
Another time when I submitted some paperwork to the police station, an officer asked, “Because you practice Falun Gong, you lost your job. Yet, you keep telling people about Falun Gong. What does you husband think?” I said, “He understands. Without Falun Gong, I might have died. Now I have a second, and better life because I practice Falun Gong. So many innocent people are wrongly persecuted for no reason. If I stand by and do nothing, I don't think my husband would consider me a good person.”
We chatted for a while and I explained how the Party mistreated people during its many political campaigns. In the end, she agreed to quit all organizations related to the Party.
After I was released in 2003 from a forced labor camp for the second time, another practitioner and I went to the police department to clarify the truth. She waited outside and sent forth righteous thoughts while I went in to talk with the officers.
When I saw the manager who is responsible for approving labor camp detentions, I greeted him. I said, “I did not do anything wrong. Why did you send me to a labor camp?” He looked nervous and said, “I did not do it.” I said, “If you did not approve it, who should I talk to?”
To shirk responsibility, he took me to the manager of the Reconsideration Office. I continued to clarify the truth, “I was sent to labor camp detention for one year because I stood outside the court when a practitioner was on trial. There were many 610 Office agents standing there too. Why could they stand there and I couldn't? Is it because I am a Falun Gong practitioner who follows principles to be a better citizen?” Because my voice was loud, officers from other departments also came to listen and began asking many questions. That day, many people learned more about Falun Gong.
I also clarify the truth to officers whenever there is an opportunity. Once I met a deputy chief of the Judicial Bureau (in charge of labor camps). I explained what Falun Gong is. I also talked with two neighbors, one who works in the Appeals Office and the other who works in the Domestic Security Division. Both of them decided to separate themselves from the communist Party organizations.
Before I began to practice Falun Gong, I had a bad temper and I frequently argued with the neighbors. Now, people like me. One neighbor owns a food market and she sometimes asks me to watch the store so that she can run some errands. She said, “Because it involves money, I don't trust other people. But I trust you 120%.”
A woman in our neighborhood office is in charge of Falun Gong issues. I talked with her many times, sharing my own experiences and answering her questions. In the end she agreed to quit the communist party organizations. Later, she helped many practitioners and I was happy she chose to do the right thing.
Since the neighborhood office is not far from my home, I often go there and talk with people, officers, and security agents about Falun Gong. Soon, all the officers knew about Falun Gong and decided to quit the CCP organizations.
I also use every opportunity to clarify the truth. This includes salesmen, people who ask for directions, and street vendors. I always try my best to engage them and then direct our conversation to Falun Gong. Not everyone immediately accepts what I say. Some swear at me or even threaten to call the police.
I know I am doing the right thing. After all, we have to do our best to save everyone we encounter.
