(Minghui.org) A teacher in Ji’nan City was recently charged with “using a cult to undermine law enforcement,” a standard pretext used by the Chinese communist regime in its attempt to frame and imprison practitioners of Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline based on the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

Mr. Wu Zhenghui, in his 40s, was arrested on April 6, 2017, after being reported to police for talking to his students about the staged “self-immolation” on Tiananmen Square, a propaganda stunt contrived to demonize Falun Gong.

Two lawyers defended Mr. Wu at his trial on July 3. They argued that no law in China has ever criminalized Falun Gong and that their client had every right to debunk the Chinese regime’s lies against and defamation of Falun Gong.

The lawyers also refuted the evidence, noting that the prosecutor had failed to present facts to back up the evidence.

Mr. Wu testified in his own defense. He emphasized that Falun Gong prohibits killing, including suicide, and that the self-immolators were not Falun Gong practitioners. As an educator, he felt compelled to inform his students of what really happened during the staged self-immolation incident.

Mr. Wu’s two sisters commented after the trial that they finally understood that their brother was not doing anything illegal by practicing and spreading information about Falun Gong.

Mr. Wu remains in the Changqing District Detention Center.
