Liaoning Villagers: “It's a crime to put such a kind person in jail!”

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Xin was arrested by officers from the Lingyuan Domestic Security Division and Xiaochengzi Police Substation in Liaoning Province on November 9, 2015.

Mr. Liu had previously been sent to a forced labor camp for a year and a half in 2008 for practicing Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.

Following his latest arrest, some of his fellow villagers spoke up in his defense and said, “It's a crime to put such a kind person in jail!”

Mr. Liu, who is 63, has followed Falun Gong's principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance ever since he took up the practice. He developed a reputation in his village for helping others.

One fall day, when Mr. Liu Xin was tending his sheep, he found a woman lying in a deep ditch covered in dirt. She was barely breathing. Mr. Liu ran back to the village and enlisted several others to help carry the woman to his aunt’s home.

They gave her hot water to warm her up, and she finally came to. Then, they gave her food. It became apparent that she was mentally ill and had gotten lost. Her family was very grateful that Mr. Liu had saved her.
