(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in six cities or counties in five provinces. According to this report, three Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least eight were illegally arrested.

6. [Wuxue City, Hubei Province] Ms. Chen Jianxin Detained
7. [Wuxue City, Hubei Province] Mr. Lan Jineng's Elder Brother Arrested

1. [Nong'an County, Jilin Province] Ms. Luo Fang and Another Practitioner Arrested

Ms. Luo Fang and another practitioner were arrested by officers from the Baota Police Station for talking to people about Falun Gong on the morning of May 28, 2017.

2. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Elderly Ms. Zhang Xiuqin Severely Beaten

Elderly Ms. Zhang Xiuqin of Tangyuan Town, Pidu District, was followed and severely beaten by members of the Comprehensive Management Office on May 2, 2017 for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was beaten until she passed out. She had dark bruises all over her body. When she regained consciousness, they threatened her and warned her not to publicize their brutality.

3. [Rizhao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ding Xiuzhen and Mother Detained

Ms. Ding Xiuzhen, a retiree of the Port Authority, and her mother were arrested on May 22, 2017, for distributing Falun Gong materials around the Rizhao City Hospital. They were held in the Rizhao City Detention Center.

4. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Lanqin and Mr. Zang Jianxin Arrested

Ms. Li Lanqin and Mr. Zang Jianxin were arrested and taken to a brainwashing center on the morning of May 22, 2017 for disseminating Falun Gong facts on WeChat, a social media platform. Ms. Li was released that evening. Mr. Zang was taken to the Weifang City Detention Center.

5. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Li Xiaodong Arrested

Mr. Li Xiaodong from Nanshan District was arrested by officers from the Nantou Police Station on May 26, 2017.

6. [Wuxue City, Hubei Province] Ms. Chen Jianxin Detained

Officers from the Huaqiao Town Police Station broke into Ms. Chen Jianxin's home and arrested her on April 24, 2017. Ms. Chen, 60, was detained for 15 days in the Qichun County Detention Center. She was transferred to the Wuhan Brainwashing Center on May 9.

7. [Wuxue City, Hubei Province] Mr. Lan Jineng's Elder Brother Arrested

Mr. Lan Jineng from Huaqiao Town was arrested by Zhang Xiaojun, deputy director of the Huaqiao Town Police Station, on April 24, 2017. He was detained for 15 days at the Wuxue City Detention Center. He was then taken to the Wuhan Brainwashing Center on May 10.

Mr. Lan's son and his elder brother, who is 70 years old, went to the police station and demanded the paperwork needed for visiting him. The officers arrested Mr. Lan's brother on the grounds of “obstructing official business.” He was taken to the Wuxue City Detention Center for a 10-day period of detention. The detention center refused to admit him due to his high blood pressure.
