(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 8 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 18 were illegally arrested.

1. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Four Practitioners Abused in Prison

Mr. Li Min and Mr. Peng Jianpu were held in the No. 10 Ward, Hulan Prison. They were held in solitary confinement for three months when they refused to wear prison uniforms and engage in forced labor. When Mr. Li's family came to visit him they were not allowed to meet him.

Mr. Chen Chunsheng and Mr. Zou Enzhi were beaten, cursed at, and forced to do labor work.

2. [Jiuquan City, Gansu Province] Ms. Wang Yuqin Arrested

Ms. Wang Yuqin from Xincheng District was arrested and her home was ransacked by officers from the Xincheng District Police Department's Domestic Security Division around April 10, 2017 for distributing Falun Gong materials. She was taken to a detention center for 15 days of detention. The detention center refused to admit her because of her high blood pressure. She was released.

3. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Du Wenliang Arrested

Mr. Du Wenliang from Wumahe District was arrested downstairs at his home by officers from the Cuiling District Police Department on April 14, 2017. The officers confiscated all his Falun Gong books and a printer.

Mr. Meng Fanming and his wife Ms. Liu Yan from the Cuiling Forest Farm were also arrested at the same time. Ms. Liu was released on April 15.

4. [Chongqing] Ms. Tang Tianzhen Arrested

Ms. Tang Tianzhen from the Shiqiaopu area was arrested by officers from the Xietaizi Police Station and police assistants on the evening of April 13, 2017 for distributing Falun Gong materials. She was taken to the police station. She was brought back home the following morning.

Mr. Xiao Minghe was arrested at home on April 12, 2017.

6. [Shanghai] Ms. Tang Liandi Detained

Ms. Tang Liandi from Yangpu District was arrested and taken to the Jiangpulu Police Station by Zhu Jinkang, head of the Yangpu District Domestic Security Division and the 610 Office, and other officers on April 6, 2017. She was taken to the Yangpu Detention Center for seven days of detention.

7. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Liang Yanli Detained

Ms. Liang Yanli from Jinshui District was arrested and her home ransacked on the morning of April 11, 2017. She is held in the Zhengzhou City No.3 Detention Center.

8. [Pingdingshan City, Henan Province] Ms. He Shuqing and Mr. Lu Shejiao Detained

Ms. He Shuqing and Mr. Lu Shejiao from Ruzhou City were arrested in November 2016 for suing Jiang Zemin, the former head of the communist regime, who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong. They are still held in the Ruzhou City Detention Center.

9. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Shi Jing and Ms. Shao Ying Detained; Ms. Shao Suffers Severe Heart Condition

Ms. Shi Jing and Ms. Shao Ying were held in the Taikang County Detention Center. Ms. Shao developed a serious heart condition. She was taken to the Daqing Detention Center on the evening of April 11, 2017.

10. [Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Yang Yaping Given a Six-and-a-Half-Year Prison Term

Ms. Yang Yaping from Funing County was arrested on August 20, 2016. She was held in the Fengxian County Detention Center, Shanghai. She was given a six-and-a-half-year prison term by the Minhang District Court, Shanghai. She was taken to the Songjiang Women's Prison, Shanghai, in March 2017.

11. [Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Wang Jieying Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Wang Jieying was arrested at her calligraphy art store by the Qujiang District police and the 610 Office staff on the afternoon of April 12, 2017. She was taken to the Sanshui Brainwashing Center.

12. [Yanji City, Jilin Province] Ms. Jin Ying'ai and Ms. Yin Zhenshu Arrested

Ms. Jin Ying'ai was arrested at home and taken to the Xinxing Police Station on the morning of April 12, 2017. The police confiscated all her computers, printers, and Falun Gong books.

Elderly Ms. Yin Zhenshu was arrested and her home ransacked by officers from the Yanji City Police Department on the morning of April 12, 2017. She has returned home.

13. [Huanggang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Li Mengxiang Detained

Ms. Li Mengxiang from Macheng City was arrested on the evening of April 12, 2007. She was taken to Wuhan City.

14. [Tianjin] Ms. Wang Peiyan Detained

Ms. Wang Peiyan from Dongli District was arrested at her daughter's home in Tanggu District by officers from the Development Zone Police Station, Dongli District, on April 14, 2017. She is held in the Dongli District Detention Center.

15. [Luzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Guangxian Transferred to Prison

Ms. Zhang Guangxian was sentenced to three years in prison on October 21, 2016 for refusing to renounce Falun Gong. She filed an appeal two days later and received a confirmation receipt on November 14 that Luzhou City Intermediate Court received her paperwork.

A friend of Ms. Zhang's deposited some money into her account at the local detention center in late March 2017. She was contacted days later and told to take the money back. This friend believed that Ms. Zhang was probably moved to a different location in late March or early April this year.

It was confirmed on April 15, 2017 that Ms. Zhang was transferred to prison. The exact time of her prison transfer and the name of the prison are not yet confirmed.

16. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Cui Fenglan’s Sentence Upheld

Harbin City Intermediate Court recently upheld the guilty verdict against a local woman sentenced for her faith.

Ms. Cui Fenglan was arrested on May 6, 2016 for purchasing ornaments with messages about Falun Gong on them. She was sentenced to 15 years in prison seven months later.

Her lawyer mailed her appeal to judge Ma Shinuo on January 2, 2017, but Ma refused to sign the receipt of the EMS mail. The lawyer then traveled to Harbin on January 6 to hand deliver the appeal to Ma.

Judge Chen Jianfeng of Harbin City Intermediate Court ruled on March 13 to uphold the verdict.

17. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Mr. Ji Guangkui’ Family Sues Police Department for Torturing Him

Mr. Ji Guangkui was arrested on March 18, 2017. Officers from the Caohu City Police Department interrogated him using more than 10 torture methods the following morning.

Mr. Ji’s son and his lawyer filed a complaint to Caohu City Procuratorate against chief Lang Dengshan from the domestic security division of Caohu City Police Department, policeman Wang Bing and Ke Lei from Caoyang Police Station, on March 23, 2017. However, after 22 days,Wei Zhang, head of Lawsuit Section still had not investigated or set up a case.

18. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zhu Yuhong’s Family Sued Director of the 610 Office

Ms. Zhu Yuhong was transferred to Guangdong Legal System Education Center (i.e. Sanshui Brainwashing Center) by the 610 Office after being held in Shende Detention Center for four months. Her family went to relevant departments to request her release. They were told to ask the 610 Office.

Ms. Zhu’s family went to see Deng Chenghua, director of the 610 Office on April 15, 2017. Deng kept saying the higher authorities were in charge but he refused to identify who they were. Ms. Zhu’s family had to go to the Meijiang District Procuratorate to file a criminal complaint against Deng.
