(Minghui.org) I'm a Falun Dafa practitioner in Chifeng City, China. Over the past six months, there have been several incidents of undermining the Fa in our area.
Some area coordinators and veteran practitioners are spreading the idea that the evil doesn't exist any more. They have changed the formula for sending forth righteous thoughts into “Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance is good. The Buddha light illuminates everything.” They claimed that sending forth righteous thoughts this way helps practitioners enter tranquility and save sentient being in a more powerful way. Some practitioners tried it and thought it had good effect.
The method spread quickly through Chifeng to other counties, creating a stir. Both new and veteran practitioners have been affected. Those who have strayed from the Fa promote it everywhere. Some of them could give a four-hour-long speech about it. Some practitioners have complained about their behavior, while others wrote sharing articles to the Minghui website and Master.
Personally, I think the incident happened for a reason. Master has told us to look inward instead of outward, but most of us have forgotten to do so. Some practitioners said anxiously, “Hurry! Write to Minghui, and stop this behavior that undermines the Fa.” Their letters weren't published by Minghui, so they wrote to Master. We have to ask ourselves if it's correct to rely on Minghui and Master to stop these issues. What are we here for? What mighty virtue have we established through safeguarding the Fa?
The incident clearly displays some practitioners' poor cultivation states. Seeing that some people didn't meet the criteria of Falun Dafa practitioners, the old forces made them go astray with the intention of eliminating them. The test is a simple and basic one. It's easy to tell that such behavior is wrong as soon as we measure it against the Fa. How could such a considerable number of people follow them then? The followers failed to follow the Fa and chose to join the group. Some practice site assistants even wavered on this essential issue.
If everyone had a clear understanding of the Fa, those who have strayed wouldn't have an audience. They would have to stop. Master has previously given a lecture on the issue in Chifeng, and it made practitioners reflect upon themselves. One practitioner said sadly, “We truly need to follow the Fa, cultivate ourselves well, and never let Master down.”
But within six months, these incidents are happening again. Some practitioners with their celestial eye open changed the way to send forth righteous thoughts, and gave speeches promoting it again and again.
It exposed another issue in cultivation: saving face. Some practitioners dare not to point out the wrongdoings to those who undermine the Fa. They speak indirectly, or keep silent, but complain about it behind these people's backs.
Some practitioners thought this behavior would stop as soon as we exposed it on Minghui. When their articles weren't published, they complained that the Minghui editors were irresponsible, but forgot their own role. Seeing the poor overall cultivation state in our area, the old forces caused the undermining acts to become worse and larger in scale. It was a loophole for the whole body of cultivators. Every practitioner has to think about their relationship to it.
To be responsible for the Fa and our fellow practitioners, we have to seriously point out wrongdoings without selfishly considering saving face. Everyone of us, especially veteran practitioners, should tell them, “What you are doing undermines the Fa. The formula for sending forth righteous thoughts is determined by Master. Altering any single word is a monstrous sin.”
The incident is a yardstick, measuring practitioners in Chifeng. It clearly shows who can truly safeguard Dafa, and who blindly follows group behavior. The only way to not let Master down is to make collective improvements and measure things according to the requirements of the Fa.
The above is my limited understanding. Please feel free to point out anything inappropriate.
