(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 26 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 13 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 27 were illegally arrested.
Ms. Tao Cheng, in her 70s, was interrogated and then arrested on March 9, 2017, by about five officers who had monitored her home. The officers ransacked her home.
Ms. Xia Guizhen and her daughter Ms. Li You were arrested by officers from the Changchun City Police Department on the morning of March 12, 2017. They are being held in the Changchun City No. 4 Detention Center.
Mr. Liu Hongjun's car was stopped on March 13, 2017 by police. Mr. Liu Haitao, his son, was a passenger in the car. Both, from Chengli Village, were arrested. Their whereabouts are unknown. Yang Yigui, a domestic security officer, and several other officers from the Shengcheng Police Station ransacked their home.
Ms. Wei Shenglan was arrested on the morning of March 12, 2017 for talking to people about Falun Gong. Her whereabouts are unknown.
Ms. Yu Shaoping, a teacher at the Beijie Primary School, returned home from prison on April 26, 2016. She was harassed by officers from the Jinyuan Town Police Station in early March 2017. They asked the school security guards to log the time whenever Ms. Yu was leaving the premises.
The security guards at the school gate did not let Ms. Yu leave school on the afternoon of March 12, 2017. They claimed that officers from the Domestic Security Division and from the Political and Legal Affairs Committee demanded that they not let her leave the school. The principal approved her leaving the school grounds.
Mr. Shi Qiang was arrested in July 2015 and the family had not been allowed family visitation of over one-year-and-eight months. He was given a two-year prison term. He was taken to the Shandong Province Prison on February 16, 2017. His family did not receive the notice from prison authorities until March 12.
Ms. Dai Guiying and Ms. Jia Chengzhen from Beigaoyu Village, Shiheng Town, were arrested and their homes ransacked on March 10, 2017 for talking to people about Falun Gong and distributing Falun Gong informational materials. Ms. Jia was released for health reasons the following day. Ms. Dai was taken to the Tai'an City Detention Center.
Ms. Zhao Xiaowen from Houpu Village was on her way to Beijing on March 13, 2017 to be with her daughter, who just had given birth. Ms. Zhao was arrested at the Raoyang Train Station for carrying three copies of Falun Gong books and a music player for practicing the Falun Gong exercises.
She was detained. The officers consulted with the Anping Police Department. She was then taken to the Liangwa Township Police Station. Her home was ransacked. She was released that afternoon. She was told not to go to Beijing before the completion of the “Two Sessions” (National People's Congress Session and Political Consultative Conference Session).
Mr. Liu Jingxun, 75, from Huzhong District, was arrested by officers from the Huzhong Forestry Bureau's Domestic Security Division on the morning of July 18, 2015 for pasting “Suing Jiang Zemin” stickers on walls. He had been held in the Huzhong Detention Center, after which he was transferred to the Tahe County Detention Center, because the Huzhong Detention Center was closed.
Mr. Liu was given a three-year prison term. He appealed to the Greater Khingan Intermediate Court, which upheld the original sentence. Ms. Liu was taken to the prison from the Tahe County Detention Center on March 12, 2017.
Ms. Wang Yanxia was arrested on June 28, 2016. She was tried twice. She was sentenced to three years in prison around March 1, 2017.
Mr. Kuang Xunyun, in his 50s, was arrested by officers from the Jiangjin District 610 Office and the Domestic Security Division on March 14, 2017.
Mr. Cao Guozhen from Zhulu Town was arrested at home by officers from the Zhulu Town Police Station and the Pingshang Town Police Station on the afternoon of March 7, 2017. The officers ransacked his home and confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Gong books, a printer, a computer, over 4,000 yuan, and three cell phones. The three cell phone were returned. Mr. Cao's whereabouts are unknown.
Mr. Cao was arrested and harassed numerous times. He had been sentenced to three years of forced labor in prior years, as well as to eight years in prison after his arrest in October 2007.
Mr. Li Runfu was arrested by officers from the Changchun City Police Department, the Domestic Security Division, and the Qianjin Street Police Station on the morning of March 12, 2017. The officers ransacked his home and confiscated a printer, a computer, supplies, DVDs, and other personal materials.
Mr. Zhang Yongping was recently sentenced to six years in prison by the Erqi District Court.
Ms. Chang Xiurong was sentenced to seven years in prison on March 10, 2017.
Ms. Lu Yongzhen's nine-year prison term ended on February 27, 2017. On stepping outside the prison doors, she was arrested by the local 610 Office members, who had waited inside the gate of the Jilin Province Women's Prison. Her family went to the prison to pick her up, but did not see her.
Ms. Fu Shuyuan and her son drove to Ms. Guo Xiuqing's home on the morning of March 13, 2017. They were arrested by officers from the Jitai Town Police Station on their way back home. Ms. Guo was also arrested and her home ransacked.
Mr. Wang Shixiao was arrested on the morning of March 13, 2017 for talking to people about Falun Gong.
Mr. You Zhizhong and Ms. Mao Cuilian from Hengshan District were arrested by officers from the Dahengshan Police Station on the morning of March 12, 2017 for talking to people about Falun Gong. Mr. You was taken to the Jixi Detention Center for 15 days of detention. Ms. Mao returned home at noon.
Mr. Zhao Songmao was arrested on March 1, 2017. He was taken to the Gongyi City Detention Center.
Ms. Nie Yuzhen, in her 70s, Ms. Zhang Guorong, 68, and Ms. Tang Shufen, 63, were reported on March 2, 2017 for talking to people about Falun Gong. They were arrested and taken to the Niutoushan Brainwashing Center by officers from the Zhangwan Police Department. Ms. Nie was released on March 4 after her family was extorted 3,000 yuan.
Mr. Liu Zengfang, in his 70s, a retired teacher from the Yuci District Teachers College, was arrested by Domestic Security officers in 2014 for distributing Falun Gong materials. He was given a three-year prison term in early 2016. His sentence was commuted to home detention for health reasons.
He was arrested and taken to the Shanxi No. 2 Prison by officers from the Yuci Domestic Security Division around September 2016.
Ms. Peng Yunli, from Jichangzhuang Village, and Ms. Liu Hening, from Jiangli Village, were reported on the morning of March 11, 2017 for talking to people about Falun Gong. They were arrested and taken to the Ningjin County Police Department. Both practitioners are being held in the Ningjin Detention Center.
Ms. Wang Kezhen was arrested by plainclothes officers from the Sanlijie Police Station on the evening of February 16, 2017 for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was held in the Yaohai Police Department for five days and released on February 22, 2017.
Ms. Zhou Shuying, 81, and two elderly ladies were arrested at Mr. Zhou's home by officers from the Fancheng District 610 Office and the Shuishang Police Station on February 8, 2017. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated over 40 Falun Gong books, 2,000 yuan, and a cell phone. They took a picture of Ms. Zhou's identification (ID) card. The three practitioners were taken to the Shuishang Police Station and released at around 8:00 p.m.
Mr. Yan Xiangbao from Huawang Village, Deping Town, was arrested and his home ransacked on the afternoon of March 12, 2017. The officers confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, a notebook computer, a printer, and some cash. Mr. Yan's whereabouts are unknown.

Mr. Yu Hongzhou from the Yantai Development Zone was arrested by officers from the Jinqiao Police Station on the afternoon of March 10, 2017. His home was ransacked. He was then taken to the Yantai Development Zone Detention Center.

Ms. Lei Ying was arrested by officers from the Huajiadi Police Station, Chaoyang District, on February 1, 2017. She was detained for 15 days. Afterward, she was taken to the Wangsiying Brainwashing Center for 15 days. She was told that she would be sentenced to prison and her retiree income would be canceled.
Ms. Xiao Fengwen was harassed on February 1, 2017. She refused to open her door. Upon leaving her home she was arrested and taken to the Chaoyang District Detention Center on March 2.
Ms. Cui Shufeng's home was ransacked on the evening of February 1, 2017. The residential police officer harassed her daily.
