(Minghui.org) I started practicing Falun Dafa at the beginning of 1996. I would like to briefly share my experience of cooperating with other Dafa practitioners by looking inward and doing well what practitioners should do.
Local practitioners suggested that we needed a large copier to make more Falun Dafa informational materials, but we didn’t have the money. That was around the year 2003. They asked if I could contribute some money. I felt embarrassed because my family was not well-off, and I needed a lot of money for my child's education.
I had been saving a bit over the years, and wanted buy a laptop so that I could log onto the Dafa website. My job also required that I learn to use a computer, but considering the urgent need for a copier to help save sentient beings, I gave all my savings of 10,000 yuan to the local practitioner. It was just the right amount to buy the copier they needed.
Wei and Li were originally making the informational materials at Wei's home, and Song (all names are aliases) and I later joined them. To ensure our safety, we divided the tasks into four parts, and each person left after finishing their part.
We all tried not to be there at the same time, and worked hard to play our part effectively to cooperate well with each other. We were able to provide copies of Minghui Weekly, Zhuan Falun, and new articles to over 100 practitioners in over ten Fa-study groups. We also provided informational materials about the persecution and made many copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party.
We were doing well until March 2006, when quite a few practitioners in our city were arrested. Li's family member was one of them, so Li no longer came to the site.
Song was worried about our safety and suggested that we move the large volume of paper that we use to her garage. We agreed.
Then one day Song called me in a tearful voice, saying that her husband had quarreled with her and told her to move the paper out of their garage as soon as possible.
I looked inward after this event to find out what was wrong on my part. I was responsible for purchasing the paper. In order to save time and money, I bought the paper in large quantity (over ten boxes) and immediately took them to her garage by taxi. I assumed that it wouldn’t matter because we are good friends, but I didn’t realize that her husband may see it differently since he does not practice Falun Dafa.
As a practitioner, I should think about others first and be selfless. So I immediately agreed to move the paper to my other home. I acted immediately, and called a taxi to move all of the paper to my apartment on the fourth floor.
After seeing Song's situation, I also thought of Wei. So I went to his home. He has a large family, including his son, daughter in-law, and grandchildren. Only Wei and his wife are practitioners, but his whole family supports Dafa.
Wei has worked hard producing materials. He had not previously used a computer, and had no idea of how to print or make books, but he gradually learned about all these things. The equipment and materials production site was in his home.
However, after the arrest of practitioners, Wei worried about the safety of his family, and suggested that we move the equipment out of his home and rent a place to make our materials.
I didn't think it was a good idea with all of the extra costs involved, but we knew that we couldn’t take risks regarding the safety of Wei's family or the materials production site.
Master said:
“So when you encounter those difficulties, do more checking on your own part, do things in a more upright way, and don't let the old forces take advantage of any gaps.” (“Fa-Lecture During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference”)
Thinking of Master's words, I offered to move the printing equipment to my home because my husband was away traveling at the time.
My place is only about ten minutes away from Wei's home. His daughter was at home, so we three quickly moved the equipment.
I was very happy that I could help other practitioners and keep the materials production site in operation.
We later learned from the Minghui website that practitioners in China should create small scale materials production sites.
Under Master’s care, Song and I have both bought our own computers and printers, and now produce materials from our homes on a small scale, instead of doing so on a large scale at one site.
