(Minghui.org) Practitioners in China still face persecution for following the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, despite widespread efforts to clarify the truth. Many people no longer believe Party propaganda against Falun Gong, so the situation is improving, but persecution continues nevertheless.

This article gives a clear example of this.

Four Falun Gong practitioners from Gaoyang City, Hebei Province were sentenced to prison terms by the Gaoyang Court on April 5, 2017. Ms. Liu Xiangling and Ms. Liu Xiangju were both sentenced to 20 months. Ms. Li Jinying was sentenced to 2 years and Mr. Feng Zhiyong to 18 months, with a 2-year delay in his sentence.

The families of Ms. Liu Xiangling, Ms. Liu Xiangju ,and Ms. Li Jinying did not receive any advance notice about the trial.

The four were arrested on August 3, 2016, for publicly talking to people about Falun Gong and the persecution. The police ransacked the their homes following their arrests.

The sentences handed down to the practitioners were the result of an illegal trial held on December 13, 2016. During the trial, all four practitioners told the court the facts about Falun Gong and the benefits that they had obtained through practicing it. They all pleaded not guilty and requested to be released.

The three women are held in the Baoding Detention Center and Mr. Feng is held in the Gaoyang Detention Center.
