Negating Imprisonment

March 4, 2017 |   By a Falun Gong practitioner in China

(Minghui.org) Many Falun Gong practitioners have been unlawfully sentenced to prisons since the onset of the persecution of the practice in 1999. When recalling some of our encounters with the police, I discovered some commonalities that I thought would be helpful to share.

Incorrect Thought

Many practitioners send righteous thoughts to deny the persecution before a fellow practitioner is sentenced. But, no one thought it of importance to send righteous thoughts after he or she was sentenced to prison. It appears that practitioners subconsciously believe that the imprisoned practitioner would not be released until the sentence was served.

Some practitioners realized that this subconscious thought was not right. We do not accept the old forces' persecution. I believe one would be released if one follows the Fa principles and negates the persecution. Thus, the practitioner must not allow for the imprisonment to become an accepted fact.

Master said,

“Then think about it: when you went to him for fortune-telling, didn’t you listen to him and believe him? Didn’t it burden your mind then? When you have a mental burden it’s going to weigh on your mind—isn’t that an attachment? How are you going to get rid of this attachment? Haven’t you imposed on yourself another tribulation? And don’t you have to go through even more hardship to get rid of this self-made attachment?” (Zhuan Falun)

We should not listen to whatever the perpetrators claim to be facts. Whatever they say, either good or bad, is false and must be ignored. Our lives are arranged by Master. Thus, practitioners should close their minds and ears to the perpetrators' words, or the situation would turn into a tribulation.

Master said,

“The bigger you perceive the challenges to be, the harder things will be to carry out, since 'the appearance stems from the mind.' And so the task will become increasingly burdensome. When I say 'the appearance stems from the mind,' by that I also mean that the difficulty stems from your overstating the importance of the matter itself and seeing yourself in a lesser light.”

“If you don’t let the evil’s interference sway you, bad factors won’t arise from you, the evil will become trivial, you will become towering and massive, and your righteous thoughts will be ample. That’s truly the case.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the Epoch Times Meeting” from Teaching the Fa at the Conference X)

Expose Misdeeds

Some practitioners were harassed by the police, but have not exposed it. Some articles on the Minghui website only talk in general terms about a practitioner being persecuted or harassed by the police. Some remain quiet for fear of being retaliated against by the regime.

The effect of eliminating evil factors is very good if one lets go of one's attachment. A policeman who had been aggressive suddenly became kinder, and even panicked, after I exposed his misdeeds on the Minghui website.

Practitioners encourage the perpetrators' persecution by not publicizing their misdeeds on the Minghui website. What they say and do must be exposed.

Kindness is Counterproductive

Some practitioners are timid and fearful of being persecuted by the police. Thus, well-meaning truth clarification about Falun Gong among the police may have the opposite effect from what one wanted to achieve.

Some recently released practitioners greeted the perpetrators with a smile. This would give the perpetrators a wrong impression.

“I persecuted you,” the policeman thinks. “I don't need to bear any responsibility as you don't resort to revenge. I will just offer an apology and shift responsibility to someone else if this issue gets redressed. I know you will let me off the hook.”

This so-called kindness is counterproductive. They need to be told that their wrongdoing will have grave consequences in the future.

A practitioner saw that all prison gates were open in the other dimension. Yet, imprisoned practitioners could not escape. Actually, when a practitioner listens to the perpetrators, their actions would be reinforced. If the practitioner does not listen, but keeps righteous thoughts, the evil factors would be eliminated.

The evil factors have lessened and are now weak. The practitioners that are being persecuted have the ability to eliminate the remaining evil factors and could be released if they are firm in their minds that their imprisonment is wrong. Their mindset has a role to play when it comes to imprisonment or release. The wrong notion and emphasizing the physical world would keep the practitioner in its thrall.
