Inner Mongolia Woman Given Psychiatric Drugs in Prison

March 4, 2017 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Inner Mongolia, China

(Minghui.org) Ms. Zhai Cuixia, a Falun Gong practitioner, returned home in April 2016 after serving a four-year sentence at Inner Mongolia No. 1 Women's Prison. Her family couldn't even recognize her upon her return. She had lost almost all her teeth from beatings and was only skin and bones.

Ms. Zhai told her family that for two months she was injected with unknown drugs. After the injections, she couldn't think clearly, was extremely fatigued, and had a burning sensation in her stomach. “I could hardly sleep at all during those two months.” said Ms. Zhai, “When I did fall asleep, I always felt I was falling into an abyss, and then I would wake up shaking.”

One time, she felt so bad and restless, she had an uncontrollable urge to jump out of the window. She repeatedly ran to the window, but the iron bars stopped her.

When she was transferred to another ward, she was not given any injections for two days and she felt better. That's when she realized that her physical and psychological issues were caused by the injections. After that, she refused to cooperate when the guards tried to inject her.

Ms. Zhai has been repeatedly imprisoned and severely tortured for her faith. She was last arrested in April 2012 for distributing Falun Gong information. She was sentenced to four years in prison in August.
