March 27, 2017 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Qingdao City, Shandong Province, China

(Minghui.org) Ms. Xu Dehua, 77, from Qingdao City, Shandong Province, sued former Chinese Communist Party (CCP) leader Jiang Zemin in September 2015, for launching the persecution of Falun Gong. In her complaint letter, she described how she was persecuted by the local neighborhood committee and police station under the CCP’s persecution policy.

Three officers from the Liuting Police Station came to her home in April 2016, and asked who wrote the complaint against Jiang Zemin for her. They also took several photos.

She was arrested by officers from Lijianugu Community on May 26, 2016, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked, and she was taken to the Liuting Police Station.

The police demanded that her son Mr. Lei Xuyou pay 5,000 yuan, otherwise she would not be released. He refused.

When police told Mr. Lei to sign the arrest warrant, he tore it up. He was then detained for 15 days at Pudong Detention Center.

Ms. Xu has been detained at the Pudong Detention Center for ten months.

Mr. Lei visited his mother several times at the detention center, but he was not allowed to see her. When he asked the police to release his mother, they tried to extort 20,000 yuan from him.
