(Minghui.org) My husband and I are in our 60s, and we started practicing Falun Gong in 2012. My son planned to travel to Beijing with his wife and child. I thought it was a good opportunity to visit my cousin who lives in Dongying, Shandong, so I traveled with them.
After I arrived at my cousin's home, we talked. I explained what Falun Gong is, the nature of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and advised her to quit her membership in the Party and its affiliated organizations. However, as soon as I brought this up, she kept changing the subject.
I could not fall asleep at night and thought, “It was so hard for me to come here. This is so important. Why can't I explain the situation to her? What is my problem?” I began to weep.
When my cousin saw me the next morning, she asked, “Did you sleep well last night?” “Not at all,” I said.
She asked, “Why?” Tears began streaming down my face. I said, “I did not do a good job explaining how destructive the CCP is. It is my fault...”
My cousin comforted me and said, “Don't cry. I had a dream last night. I tried to walk down many roads, but all were blocked. At last, I saw a wide, bright avenue. I understand now. I will listen to you.”
She and her children revoked their memberships in the CCP and its affiliated organizations. She wrote down the names of her children who were away from home and said, “Rest assured. They will renounce the Party.”
Later, she gave me a list of all fourteen of her family members who renounced their Party memberships.
Falun Gong was made public in 1992 and soon spread across China due to its beneficial effect on health improvement and morality. Nearly 100 million people practiced it by 1999. Out of jealousy, and paranoid of losing control of the people, Jiang Zemin, former head of the CCP, initiated the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999.
The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners in the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.
Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.
The CCP even conducts state-sanctioned live organ harvesting from living practitioners for lucrative profit. Due to censorship, the exact number of practitioners killed in the persecution is not known.
